If a team signs a player cut by another team due to an impending bonus, i think the new team is on the hook for the bonus?

The Redblacks have released Dominique Rhymes - He should be a target for DD.

The Ottawa Redblacks have released veteran American receiver Dominique Rhymes.

The 31-year-old appeared in all 18 games during the 2024 season, making 72 catches for 1,011 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He was due to make $225,000 in hard money next season, including $7,000 in marketing.

I have a feeling that Geno Lewis and one more defensive lineman from the Argos will end up signing with the Stamps.

That's too bad, but I also don't mind star players sticking with their teams. I think it helps with the legitimacy of the league instead of players constantly moving around looking for the biggest payday.

The Ford brothers are reunited in Edmonton...

The Edmonton Elks have agreed to terms with Canadian defensive back Tyrell Ford and, barring anything unforeseen, he’s expected to sign a contract with the team, per sources.

The Niagara Falls, Ont. native was named All-CFL at cornerback with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers last season. He recorded 51 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles, and seven interceptions, helping the team reach the Grey Cup for a fifth straight season.

That's okay, let's see how DD responds to the Elks spending spree.

I thought the Stamps would have signed some guys today. Based on what's happened, I thinking they are in the WR free agent market, none of the big receivers have signed yet today. I also wonder if Banks from BC is a target for the dline.

DD finally got the phones working lol

The Calgary Stampeders have agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Canadian defensive back Adrian Greene, per sources.

The six-foot, 192-pound defender dressed for 16 games with the B.C. Lions this past season, recording 26 defensive tackles, five special teams tackles, and one forced fumble. He started 14 games, including 10 at safety and four at field-side halfback.

The native of Toronto, Ont. is a nice positional fit in Calgary as Benjamin Labrosse, the team’s first-round pick in the 2024 CFL Draft, earned the starting job at field-side halfback late last season. Greene and Labrosse were the only two Canadian players in the entire CFL to start a game at halfback in 2024.

The Lions have released receiver Keon Hatcher...

The B.C. Lions have released veteran American receiver Keon Hatcher, per sources. The news was first reported by TSN’s Farhan Lalji.

Hatcher was due a $40,000 off-season bonus on February 7 as part of $193,800 in hard money next season. After the two sides were unable to come to an agreement on a restructured contract, he requested and was granted his release.

Is the new team responsible for the unpaid bonus?
