Heiskanen will be back before the playoffs, I would think, so no. But I forgot about Seguin.

I didn’t know Granlund was this good. Weird.

Yeah - San Jose has done a very good job with asset management.

I wonder how many other trades we see this weekend. Most so far have been bigger deals, I wonder if we start seeing depth players being moved.

Yeah. They might have another year in the bottom 5 for the McKenna draft before starting their way up the standings. Will be scary if they end up with something like Celebrini, McKenna and Schaefer.

My impression of him is he’s a guy who produces well on bad teams when he gets the premium ice time
I’m not sure how he will fit with a deep team like Dallas

Ceci + Granlund return a 1st from Dallas but Tanev just gets you a 2nd from Dallas? I know I'm biased as a Flames fan and I haven't watched San Jose much over the last 3+ seasons but I'd assume those trade values would be the other way around.

Maybe Grier actually knows what he’s doing? They have done a fantastic job spinning reclamations into draft picks.

I still don’t understand why Hanley was waived. Guy is a perfect fit here. Up and down the pairs. Press box. Whatever. Guy is a reliable gap filler for short stints.

It is one of the things a rebuilding team should be doing.

Conroy tried it with Mantha and Barrie, but it just didn't work out.

It was also announced that Nils Lundquist is done for the year, so there's your reason for Ceci.

Granlund is better than Tanev as an acquisition

Can anyone recommend something better than CapWages? (I miss Capfriendly)

I disagree
For playoff hockey I would way rather have Tanev
I really think a team like the Leafs were dumb not getting him at the deadline last year

I agree - much rather have Tanev.

But offense gets the salary, and the returns in trade. Chicks dig the goals.

Big price. Not sure it gets them that much closer to the big prize though.

I dont know...I kind of think its up for grabs.

I dont really see a clear cut 'if you want it you'll have to go through us' kind of favourite.

The playoffs this year are going to be interesting.
