This team earned itself a shot in the arm, and Conroy gave it to them without giving up any of our top prospects, first round picks and didn't take on any older rentals in the process either.

I also think both these players, Frost and Farabee, have some upside in them as they had clearly fallen out of favor in Philly with the coach and a change of scenery might see them "pop" a little here.

It's almost like the perfect trade for the Flames. Let's hope it works out.

Hopefully the Conman can bolster the left side D with a similar type trade soon too. I HATE trading draft picks, but even I can live with this type of move.

It's funny because some of us Flames fans have been coveting Frost and Farabee for a long time now. I remember wondering if we could get them in some sort of Gaudreau swap back a few years ago and coming off as some sort of lunatic. Fast forward a few seasons and we get them for pennies on the dollar, really.

Paid less then rental price

Probably can get back a 2nd easily for Farabee as a rental when his time comes

had no idea why clearing cap space for next year is such a plus for some Philly fans, until I saw some of them believe might take a run at Rantanen or Marner. Well, good luck with that, I guess.

Still shocked we got Frost AND Farabee for that package. Should have asked for Luchanko while they were at it lol.

For me this is essentially two bonafide NHL players under 25 for...a 2nd. I don't like picks going out but the value is incredible. The 7th is negligible, even thought our star goalie was a 7th. Pelletier was a good spark plug but that's it right now. Both he and Kuzmenko could easily be out of the league next year

Wow. This did happen. I didnt dream it . The word rumored isnt beside it. Cool way to wake up.

Dont think Pelts would have moved the needle for us and Kuzmenko meh .

Wow Conny .

Lol that seems like lazy reporting from someone who can only be bothered to get excited about certain teams.

When it's your job, all NHL transactions are news worth delving into, including that involving so-called mediocre players/teams.

Great timing for the trade to get done. Flames have 5 games left until the break. 4 of them at home . That’s going to help the newbies get adjusted to Calgary. My guess of lines before the break and before Zary comes back:

Hubby-kadri-pops
Coleman- backs - coronato
Farebee-frost-shags
Limbers-Rooney/Clark-klaps

When Zary comes back I would like to see him at center. That said I’m not sure he will be.

Flyers fans hate this trade, that's the kicker for me. Great job Conroy!

Aren't the Oilers trading 2030 picks to win now?

Great news to wake up to this morning. Getting two guys with second line upside and third line downside is a good deal. Pelletier gets a fresh start in hopes he continues growth. The second rounder is fair going back as well. I think we did well. It’s not a home run because Frost and Farabee do need to grow but it’s low downside. I like it.

This guy gives the Flames a poor grade for each recent transaction:
-Toffoli
-Zadorov
-Lindholm
-Tanev
-Hanafin
-Kuzmenko/Pelletier

Although we are biased, the Toffoli, Lindholm and Kuzmenko trades are clear wins (although we weren't sure about the Toffoli trade at first). Conroy has shown he has an eye for undervalued talent.

Seems like Philly wanted out of the Farabee contract. Even if he doesn’t pop back to where he was I like the gamble. Now here’s hoping that Conroy continues to stick with age appropriate players

Must have seen an undersized first year bantam goaltender from California in one of those swanky U.S. hockey tournaments and thought that guy could be the next Wolf.

Both of these guys would likely go higher than where they were drafted. Farabee has the 4th most goals And 7th most points of his draft year. Posters here still talk about going after Cody Glass, but Frost has way more points than him.

The real asset Connie traded here is the 7 million bucks Philly will save at the start of next season.

Cap Space = Weaponized.

Love this deal.

He's not a serious hockey writer (I think he believes he is).
