The mix always seems off to me, the vocals are always mixed very low.

It was quite thorough, but I don’t think it covered the appearance by the Replacements.

Questlove admitted on Fresh Air, that 80-90% of what we see on SNL and late night shows has recorded components (not live).

Showcase has a number of SNL docs on now, including a whole show on The Cowbell sketch, and one where cast members watch their auditions.

If you sail the 7 seas and watched the SNL Homecoming concert tonight, or were preparing to watch it on Monday, you need to set the DVR and make sure you have it.


That was brilliant. Miley was great, Bonnie Raitt, Lady Gaga, Will & Ana, David Byrne + Arcade fire + Robyn, Post Nirvana, and even Cher. Frick, that was a great 3 hrs I spent alone instead of some lame valentine's day crap. Jack White crushed to end.

Just finished the Homecoming Concert. Pretty great top to bottom, though I really don't get Jelly Roll at all, I thought he sounded awful and was disappointed he covered Johnny Cash.

I was really pleasantly surprised by Post Malone with Nirvana.

Jack White is unbelievable, what a closer.
