Per 338.com that Ekos poll is a significant outlier.

The raw numbers are an outlier, yes, but the trend is not.

EKOS Jan 15: CON +13
EKOS Jan 25: CON +3

Abacus Jan 12: CON +26
Abacus Jan 24: CON +21

Nanos Jan 10: CON +27
Nanos Jan 24: CON +17

Leger Jan 12: CON +26
Leger Jan 25: CON +18

Clearly something is afoot.

Regardless, the same probe that finds there to be no “traitors” (as in, nobody in the government acting on behalf of a foreign entity) did find evidence of persuasion and attempts to influence, something PP should want to know if he’s a rational person who is not merely pretending to care about foreign interference. The probe also makes the conclusion that party leaders should, as soon as possible after they become leaders, get the necessary security clearance.

PP might have a reason. Golly, what an accomplishment. But while it’s consistent with his desire to play games and spread misinformation, it’s inconsistent with someone who cares about foreign interference, so he should shut his mouth and let the adults who actually know something about it handle the talking.
There is some conspiratorial reasoning being made and alluded to. People are rebutting this. That isn’t the same as endorsing it. To me this is very similar to the I do t want Singh to prop of the government and Singh is being irrational propping up the government discussion.

One of these is not like the other. Frankie drinking the koolaid hard again.

When Brian Mulroney resigned as PM while deeply unpopular and before Kim Campbell became leader, polls showed the PC party going from 18% to as high as 50%. In the end, once the dust settled, it was clear it was the same PC party and Canadian sentiment remained and PC ended with 16% of the vote. Recency bias is a thing, but we are not seeing anywhere close to the same effect with Liberals right now (except for EKOS).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opinio...deral_election

Current polls are more in line with what they were back in November before the spectacular party blowup and still hold an extremely strong comfortable lead that would give them ~235 seats.

That being said, CPC / Poilievre would be foolish to not pay heed to the momentum change, and they have lost the momentum (I mean considering the past few months could not have gone better for them, right now Liberals are in the limelight with the leadership race, and Poilievre news has been negative).

Also the whole Trump turning US into Nazi America probably has a few folks spooked. At the moment, this is the immediate focus Canadians have.

I guess we’ll see how strong of a grip Poilievre has on his party. Harper knew he had to keep the kooks in line in order to win a general election, and exercised an iron grip on the party and its messaging. But the right-wing populist kooks have gotten even kookier since then, while their association with Trump and MAGA is political poison in Canada.

The Liberals’ electoral strategy is going to be to run against Trump, while back-pedalling on Trudeau’s less popular policies. Poilievre will face pressure to distance himself from his own right without sparking the kind of grass-roots revolt that got Kenney turfed.

If Pierre wants to distance himself from the appearance and labelling of being Maple Trump, he's gonna have to do a lot better than siting down with the likes of Jordan Peterson.

Poilievre is a bit of a kook himself, let's be real. That's why he got elected as leader and booted O'Toole who tried to run center. He's a smart kook though, and it's time to avoid associating with social right issues like the plague. As much as Poilievre wants this election to be the carbon tax, it's clear the next election will now be about nationalism, and protecting Canada from Trump. Message has to shift in kind.

He'll also have to come out of hiding. Dude has all but disappeared since the Trump insanity started.

I agree with almost everything here (although I don't think that Poilievre is any smarter than anyone else). But the issue is that his main stances are gone. He can run against Trudeau, but the Liberals are going to do that as well. He can stand behind his "Axe the Tax" signs, but that ship is sailed. Pretty soon, he's going to have to actually convince people to support him and his MAGA populism, and honestly, I think that is going to be harder than it was, say, 6 months ago. The Trump election and his attacks against Canada are going to make things tough for the CPC because I'm not sure how much of an appetite there is for politicians who want to cozy up to someone building concentration camps and conducting mass deportations of immigrants.

Pepsi, I dont want to get into it again with you for the sake of Fotze and everyone else. However, you claim I lied about something, what were you even talking about? Where did I lie?

I have been trying to find a interview done by the CBC with a (Former?) CSIS senior staff sergeant and district chief I think it was. It was released by the CBC right before the report dropped. He was super critical of the Hogue report and the conclusions she came to. It appears to be gone from CBC. I cant find it anywhere on the internet either. He was very clear they had the evidence to back up his claims.

Did anyone else see the interview?

Haven't watched it but is it this one?

ormer CSIS directors Ward Elcock and Richard Fadden break down the final report from the foreign interference inquiry that finds no evidence of 'traitors' in Parliament, but points to serious threats from misinformation, disinformation and transnational repression. Plus, Public Safety Minister David McGuinty — who was chair of NSICOP when it released a report saying there was intelligence about parliamentarians being 'semi-witting or witting' participants in foreign interference — responds to the inquiry's accusations of inaccuracies.

Nope. This one was with a anchor I have never seen before, I believe maybe Asian decent with a really terrible orange makeup job. The Csis agent spoke with a strong french accent. his name was micheal something hyphenated haha.

I have looked thru all of CBC's video database. It for sure is not on there.
EDIT: I found the agent.

Jagmeet is the most useless #### of all time. Seriously, it would be hilarious if he wasn't a major political figure in our country. He has set the NDP back at least a decade if not more.
