Ah , they revealed their strategy.

To allow this to pass, it would need to go thru a vote in the house correct?

This is exactly how Jagmeet flip flops on taking down the government and forcing a election. Sides with "the worker" keeps the liberals in power.

The report that was published is not solely privy to MP's. Everyone can read Hogue's report.

Oh please, I have f-cking Secret clearance with the federal government. With the exception of submitting family history and having to manually get a criminal record check and fingerprinting done (which takes maybe 45 minutes in person, 10 minutes of that is waiting), it's roughly the same process as getting NEXUS, and I bet you anything PP has one of those.

If you're going to be at the helm of the country, you should be cleared to see the inner workings of it. To refuse to do so is cause for further, increased scrutiny.

I agree, When he becomes the leader of the country he for sure should have the security clearance. He will need to get it, and likely in short order. I would imagine as soon as a election is called he will get it and this all will have been a big nothing burger. Maybe im wrong, maybe he is a secret spy... unlikely. but maybe.

Until then, I guess wilful ignorance is his play? Is that...better for Canada?

That might be believable if every other party, the CSIS, and even the probe into that report hadn’t all come to the same conclusion.

But it’s interesting that CPC supporters are now trying to gaslight around the issue to avoid experiencing any cognitive dissonance. I was under the impression that foreign interference and transparency were important issues to you, but I guess not.

According to Hogue there was really nothing to worry about. As has been pointed out by others earlier by posters. Why is it so critical to have it now that the report has been published. Unless you dont accept the findings of the report.

How do you feel about the report and the large difference from the PM comments at the hearing of all the Conservative interference he pointed out and the lack of any of it in Hogues report?

Lil Pep is just upset that nobody was targeting the NDP.

Even foreigners won’t vote for antisemitism.

who is gaslighting anything around the issue? (kinda rich coming from the biggest gaslighter on the forum.) Transparency and FI are very important to me, you are correct. Should PP not qualify for his security clearance there will 100% be a issue. Are you assuming he will not be able to get clearance? PP is unique to the other parties as he is part of the official OPPOSITION. If he get clearance, he cant oppose or even speak on the topic correct?

What sort of magic does the official opposition title bestow upon its leader that means he cant or shouldnt get a clearance? All the other leaders of parties have theirs. Does not affect their ability to do their jobs.

Yeah, that's it, we're all worried he's the lamest James Bond we've ever seen. It has nothing to do with the possibility that he may be in some way beholden to or compromised by a foreign actor which is driving his resistance to getting clearance because of what it may turn up. It could be under duress or it could be wilfully so, who knows.

It is the dumbest order of operations imaginable that you'd hire someone into a role that you're locked into for four years and then go "Right, that's settled, so about those qualifications and clearances you mentioned during the interview...".

You wouldn't hire someone to do password resets on an IT support desk this way.

Why do people think he can't speak on the topic if he has clearance? This is absurd. He can't disclose specific details, but this whole schtick of he is gagged by it is wrong. He can't outright lie and claim ignorance, but he can still hold the government to task for not doing enough to combat it.
