The removal of birthright citizenship is destined for SCOTUS and is also destined to be undone. There's a common misconception that constitutional amendments have to be repealed and that's not really true. SCOTUS has, can, and will, strike certain language from the amendment, and the 14th is one that ultra-conservatives have been trying to get rid of since it was introduced.

This is also how I believe Trump gets a 3rd term assuming he lives that long. He makes his intentions to run again known, and several red states allow him to be on their primary ballot. Some organization on the left will sue immediately, and the case will eventually find it's way to the supreme court. They'll rule in Trumps favor, probably with some extra language to ensure that only Trump can run again and not Obama, and the death of American democracy will be complete

It's getting really hard to stay positive about life while watching this dumpster fire unfold. Historically speaking, places adjacent to major empires usually suffer quite a bit during the downfall of said empire. That, or they become the center of the successor state.

Things are seemingly grim though. Canceling income tax? That seems out of left field and has substantial potential to cripple the economy, and with the plunge of the dollar the rest of the western world economy as well.
Mass deportations already started. Impending punitary tax targeting long standing allies. Purging officials in government and military...

Yea, it's definitely getting scary and we're only 1 week in. With the avalanche of insanity and chaos that we're already seeing, it's hard to be positive about the future of democracy. Personally I'm trying not to get too absorbed in it and just keep living my life as usual, otherwise you just end up walking around depressed and fearful all the time. But man, what's happening right now is hard to ignore, and it's f'n terrifying.
