Power is 4 years younger and $3.3M cheaper.

I wouldn't make that trade if I was Buffalo, but if they do, I would think it would only need a small add at most.

So acquire Glass and Kunin and call it a day.

I like Kunin. He can be really nasty.

Don’t know enough about the player. Any thoughts on what he would cost to acquire?

If SJ was open to moving him they'd probably ask for a 2nd and a bit more. If they don't want toove him, who knows.

That’s more than I would like to see the flames spend personally. San Jose is likely not too motivated to move a player like Kunin though unless a team is willing to overpay a bit.

Haha. I hope the Flames land Kunin after I just did a brief googling of Kunin to find out the Leafs are after him. Have to keep making tree a bridesmaid to all his targets.

I mean Kunin is a hard player but with that comes injuries. But if you want a RHS center who plays hard, that's your guy. He's not prolific in points production with a career high 31. But he has matched last year's totals in 20 less games so far.

He misses a lot of time.

Vladar probably walks unless he signs for same or less than Cooley. There wont be any offers you can’t refuse for him. He’s the sort of back up goalie that is always available around the league.

I'm not sure at this point he wouldn't clear waivers.

And what will Chicago trade to Buffalo that isn't futures?

The problem with Buffalo is that they want guys who have term left on their deal, multiple years. It's probably the least desired UFA destination at this point. And Andersson would be hot commodity if he hits the market.

The problem with Buffalo is that I'd wager 99% of NHLers probably don't want to go there.

Not a highly desired city to live in when compared to most other choices, a locker room that appears toxic, and an organization that's been floundering for a decade and a half now.

So even if they are lucky enough to find some NHLers in trades that don't have them blocked with trade protection, those players are likely not going to be thrilled to be traded to that dumpster fire and will be more likely contribute to the toxic environment than help dig them out of the hole they've dug.

Thing is we could have had glass for free in off season. Nashville paid Pittsburgh to take him. Our pro scouts must really not like him given that Nashville sent picks to Pittsburgh to take him on. At the time I was wondering why we wouldn’t be all over a deal like that but pro scouts must really not like him or there are other red flags.

Hard to believe the market for this type of player is so limited but I guess rh shot centers are hard to come by.

Where did Kunin play centre? I see he lines up as a RW in San Jose.

Hopefully that forces them into accepting futures, if they feel that they really need to move on from Cozens. I think he would pop here.

They don't need futures though. May as well keep Cozens

Francis did say a team offered the Flames a 5th round pick for Vladar so that team may claim him. Either way not a big loss for the Flames.

If all you can get is a 5th then I hang on to him. The relationship between the starter and a back-up is important. I'm not sure I would risk disrupting Wolf at all at this point in the season. Let it ride, and next year it is Cooley. You still did OK trading a 3rd for Vladar. Would have been nice to get a pick out of it, but so be it.

If we aren’t making the playoffs and don’t have vladar in our plans for next season, take the pick. We signed Cooley for a reason, and he’s on a one way next season.

Maximize our assets. Yeah, it’s only a 5th but it could be used as trade capital or we use it to make a pick.
