I actually still find it hilarious and shocking, but totally unsurprising how tacky and gauche the Oilers' new arena is. My favorite NHL arena still is the Bell Center. It's an absolutely perfect hockey arena. It's modern enough to be comfortable, and it's nice to visit, but its first purpose is definitely hockey.

Probably not stabbed but heckeled to #### for sure. My at the time 5 year old son was wearing a Flames hoodie in edmonton once (not at a game) and on about 4 separate occasions had grown men making fun of him.
My wife was with him, I wasn't. It probably would have been different if I was there which is just as sad.
Edmonton and the people that live there are the worst.

I get heckling adults, but not 5 year olds.
Either way though, it appears to make Oiler fans insecure and riled up.

You should try it! Its a blast! Normally they dont have the mental maturity to get over it and just break down.
Then they're easy pickings, you can take their candy, everything. I like to take their shoelaces.
It seems like a really minor little thing but man, you take their shoelaces and they are completely incapacitated. They have no idea what to do.
This is just...like its just not something they were prepared for. I guarantee that Mom and Dad did not teach them what to do without shoelaces. Its just not a scenario people prep their kids for.
Then you just sit back and watch the fallout...

Sure, for one 5 year old. But how many could you take at one time

With or without shoelaces?

If you are talking about shoelaces in Edmonton then no worries. The city banned dangerous shoelaces and instituted a Velcro only policy. Looks better with sweatpants anyways.

Most don’t know how to tie shoelaces anyways. It is a real issue though as they try to tie their Velcro.

Was just looking at some stats so a quick update, if I may! The greatest player in the game is currently:
Fifth in the league in points
Fifth in the league in assists
22 in the league in goals
Must be the reffing?

But the people of Edmonton defy your logic as the majority have been taught to use shoelaces as a belt for their sweatpants since they could walk and would have an extra pair on them. Even their stars...

If you zoom-in, you will notice it is a double-knot. The Oilers' training staff tie all of his new pants up, and if they ever become undone, he sends them out to be 'repaired' again.

I'd rather not zoom in on his crotch. I'll take your word for it.

Was thinking about the outcry over 3 games and wondering what it will be like when they are missing him for 82 games when he signs somewhere else.
And then I remembered that I lived in greaserville when Gretzky was traded. Yeah, like that. Except with social media.

Haha, I can't even imagine the meltdown up there if he leaves. They'll burn the whole city to the ground.
