Environmental regulation is the same. People should just move to less polluted areas. Efficiency!

There is a lot of noise around Musk and most people have probably heard his name in the news or out on the street but a lot of people probably don't actually know what companies Musk owns/runs. Let's not forget that the general population is quite stupid and don't obsess over things that might play out in a huge manner on social media.

I'd be interested to see anything that backs that up. Like, this opinion poll shows less than 10% of democrats don't know who he is, and that was back in 2022.
Currently in the UK it's, like, 1% don't know who he is. I'm sure they are also aware of his relationship to Tesla.

Who knows, maybe the average Canadian is far more naive than that, but I'm not sold on your statement.
EDIT: Ok, 6% of Canadians don't know who he is(or at least don't have an opinion). Most don't trust him. And that was back in December before the Nazi salute.

We've got a land border with Denmark, would be silly not to. Would also be a big improvement to our access to good milk and cheese in a way that would really piss off the US.
Let's revive that Turks and Caicos annexation talk while we're at it.

I'd be in Turks and Caicos in a heartbeat.

The problem is that he’s arguably the dumbest human being on Earth and he doesn’t understand how anything works, particularly things like trade agreements. But in order to try and make himself and his billionaire buddies richer, he’s willing to destroy relationships with America’s closest allies/trading partners and severely damage the economies of all three countries to do it. How do you possibly negotiate with an idiot like that? Canada and Mexico can present him all the facts and statistics they want, but he and the MAGA lunatics in his administration aren’t gonna listen. I don’t know what the solution is for dealing with these assclowns, but it ain’t gonna be easy.

You build pipelines to the coast and cozy up to American enemies. You build alliances counter to American imperialism to protect your sovereignty. If you really care about it. That’s how. I think we will soon see how much Canadians “truly” care, because it’ll be actions like these that will matter.

I've thought that was the plan since those pictures of Trump, Smith, and Kevin O'Leary at Mar-a-Lago were published. They're going to run the Russia/Ukraine playbook in Canada, and Alberta is the Donbass equivalent that will try to break away and join the United States - when the rest of Canada tries to intervene, Trump will have the reason he needs to send troops in. Once it's over, Trump will install O'Leary as Canada's prime minister-in-name-only to do his bidding.

A president isn’t a God-Emperor who can make every whim reality. An invasion of Canada would take months of thorough planning and preparation by thousands of people. The American military officer corps is mostly made up of smart, educated, sane people. They’re not going to carry out the military invasion of Canada, and American public sentiment would not be behind it either

*pushes up glasses* technically, we are still under the British Crown, so an argument could be made...

It's more likely they try to infiltrate our politics and establish a proxy PM.
They don't need to invade, they just need access to our resources, arctic, land & favourable trade agreements.
Trump wants Canada to be his Belarus.

I mean, that's pretty much all available to them currently...
KXL didn't get cancelled in Canada, for example.
