The last I heard Kadri would waive tor the Leafs and the Leafs only. I'm not saying that couldn't change and maybe Royal has more up to date info then I do. I do know that Kadri loves Calgary and wants to be part of the solution here.

What are we waiting for? Send the fax.

My guess is if it was Colorado it would be more Colorado banking they could convince him too.
Mackinnon and Makar give him a call and say "come win another cup" and that's probably hard for anybody to turn down.

Good point. I would be very surprised though if Conroy would move a big piece like that given where the team is. I totally get the it's about the future stance but it sends a pretty crappy message to the players who have bonded together to prove everyone wrong.

100% this would be Colorado asking, and not calgary offering. Conroys response would be Ritchie, basically saying if you come to us hat in hand, we're taking the hat, too.
I don't think for one second that calgary is shopping kadri.

Hypothetically, how funny would it be for Kadri to have blocked trades to both Colorado and Calgary when it’s all said and done.

Eating Mittelstadt's contract and his "failure to flourish outside of the Sabres" is the "add".
I think the whole point of the rumour is that the Avs HC wants Mittelstadt off of the team and replaced with a proper #2C so they can try for the cup while their window is open.

Nope, this is the same I'm hearing.
Just wanted to give the Avs side of what they WANT not necessarily what Kadri wants.

Still interest in Kadri and Andersson.
Colorado probably the most interested in Kadri, I’ve heard Middlestat+ as a return with Calgary wanting Ritchie as an add.
|
Like I can definitely see Colorado interested in Kadri for obvious reasons, cup contenders, they have a prior positive history with player, cant see them giving up middlestat and plus such Ritchie, seems like a rich ask on Conroys part, but good on him for asking.Looks like Colorado wants Kadri, some leverage perhaps Conroy is taking advantage of. Mittlestadt looks like he is projects as a 2/3 centre, and although not that elite center Calgary is looking for, I do that trade straight up for just Kadri any day of the week just so Calgary can get out early from kadri's contract

I know what people think about Kadri, but I really hope they find a valuable return and deal him. He's nice to have on a cheap contract but the length BT signed him for makes it difficult to stomach having him around in 2+ years. The same goes for Huberdeau. If someone wants to take that contract on, I hope they find the positive in trying out whatever city it is. Guys get over losing a teammate.

Yup, I understand. My point was there's no way we're getting Ritchie. Their prospect base is fairly thin already, so trading Ritchie would really deplete them.

That's just to name a few.
A week ago I suggested Luke Kunin as an off season target but I wouldn't be surprised if the Flames made a move for him either.

Behind a pay wall but here is the list.
Jake Evans
Michael McCarron
Ryan strome
Nick Bjugstad
Scott Laughton
Mikael Granlund
Charlie Coyle
Trent Frederic
Ryan O’reilly
JP Pageau
Alexander Wennberg
Yanni gourde
Brock Nelson
Probably most out of our price range. Conny wants to reward team and has softened on getting someone outside of the target age range/contract, these are names out there.

One I wouldn't mind going for in UFA is Morgan Geekie. Feels like he could be a consistent 40pt+ guy.
Big right shot center, only 26.

Assuming the flames are not going to make any big swings for players or any moves to risk the momentum (Kadri or Andersson), how about moves like these:
TRADE #1:
To Islanders: 2025 3rd round pick
To Flames: JP Pageau
TRADE #2:
To Chicago: Andre Kuzmenko
To Calgary: Taylor Hall
Pageau is a center who is great at face offs and is a playoff performer. The Kuzmenko for Hall trade is basically musical chairs. Neither guy is worth anything. It’s just a chance for two guys to switch places and see if they can get their game going at all.

I feel like Pageau easily goes for more then that.
I don't know why Chicago would do that, instead of just trading Hall for picks.
From the Flames perspective they would be good additions. Still not sure I'd want them giving up a pick as high as a 3rd for a rental this year though.

I’m assuming Hall isn’t worth much if anything… similar to Kuzmenko.

Hall is probably worth 'something' right now. 24 points so far to Kuzmenko's 11. I don't think you can give away Kuzmenko right now or at the deadline unless he improves his production. If Hall maintains his, then he will be worth a mid round pick, or even more if it is a seller's market.
Funny enough, both have played on the 4th line for periods so far. Not sure if Hall is still playing on the 4th, but he did when he played against Calgary the last game.

Hall might not be worth much, but he's still on pace for almost 50 points this year whereas Kuzmenko... sure isn't.
I agree I couldn't see Chicago taking Kuzy (unless they think the move and maybe playing with Bedard might motivate him back into the player he can be) but even if they did want to trade us Hall for him, we'd definitely have to add something else to make the value even

Kadri is most likely going to be like Claude Giroux, a guy who continues to produce well into his late 30’s.
