Honestly looked like he saw an all-time trolling opportunity, and found it too tempting to resist. It looked like he thought it was hilarious, and has ZERO concern about the social consequences.
EDIT: The other very familiar thing about it, is how strongly normies are reacting. Things like this are harsh reminders of why most people don't want people on the spectrum anywhere near "important" things. Harsh because it is hard to disagree and accept this about oneself.

Who you calling "normies"?

Where are you getting this from? You got a link? Anything I am seeing doesn’t back this up.
Musk around 450 billion but lower half over 3 trillion is what I’m seeing but definitely could be viewing this incorrectly.

I wonder if this is what he meant:
Quote:
In this America, the three wealthiest men (Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg) own more wealth than the bottom half of our society – over 165 million people. And their wealth is skyrocketing. Musk, alone, is now worth over $450 billion and, combined, these three men are worth $955 billion.

So it's like, 1/3rd as bad as Dino said. Man, finding facts makes me feel so much better. There's hardly any inequality at all!

Yep. DSM-V combined a handful of diagnoses under ASD, defined the "levels of support required", and explicitly stated that ASD can be diagnosed with ADHD. These changes came in 2013, only about 10 years for everyone else to catch up.
When the patient has both, the symptoms can present unexpectedly. Like, if ASD gave you symptoms A, B, C, and ADHD gave you symptoms X, Y, Z; combining them does not lead to you having A, B, C, X, Y, Z... I suspect that things like Asperger's will end up being shown to be a variation of combination ASD-ADHD (AuDHD) as research progresses.
That said, I'm not defending him. I'm just saying it looked like he thought it would be hilarious to make a nazi joke given how surreal the circumstances were, and couldn't apply the brakes. And this is not the first time he's been unable to control his impulses against better judgement (doobie on rogan, buying twitter, impregnating with impunity, etc), impulsiveness is part of who he is.
And that's why these conditions are disabilities... because allistic people (normies, for D as in David) can't trust that we won't do something totally stupid like this in a moment that matters. Allistic people have intrusive thoughts like this, too... but they can regulate them more effectively.
Allistics can have that thought, keep it to themselves, make that joke with their friends behind closed doors or in a group chat and "get it out of their system" in a socially acceptable way... do it in public, and you'll suffer the consequences. AuDHD people do not understand social and relationship norms until we learn it the hardest possible way. Even then, if your energy is low, the masking can slip. Or, if the rule doesn't make sense, you can have opposition/defiance generated internally that is too much to process and contain. Hence... we are "difficult".
Thing is, I don't know where to take it from here. It is dangerous behaviour, and I think that both he and Donald understand what power is generated when people believe you are dangerous. I think they both like being seen as Chaos agents, and will use that to their advantage. And I think that has very little to do with ASD or ADHD.

The salute was aimed at winning back the hard-right after the H1B controversy. This gets those people back and is "easy" to brush off in the mainstream as you can see everyone making excuses. It doesn't always have to be 4D chess.

I have a hard time wrapping my head around the right's Musk Love.
Immigrant.
Pushes green energy/electric cars.
Ruthless business practices to hire as few people as possible. (trickle down to who?)
Built from government handouts.
Cozy with Russia. (I guess the right is pro Russia now for some reason)
Sided with Russia and China over the US D.O.D. with Starlink service.
Why do they all simp for this guy?

I always figured the computer science nerds from the 90s would wind up making a huge mess of society.
I just didn't think they would all remain such massive pathetic losers into middle age.

They aren't even computer science nerds. These are the guys who hung over the shoulders of the computer science nerds, pretended they were nerds, and exploited them for their own gains. I've worked with the type. Hell, Musk doesn't even know how to run a python script, yet the claims to know how to code. Nobody who knows how to code doesn't understand what a python script is. They are, essentially, bull####ters. Lets not taint the good name of nerds with the likes of them.
