Kind of. Its a good sign he can hang in the NCAA after coming from a much weaker junior league, but he is 20 and playing in a weak conference in college.

So its a work in progress. I'd be a lot more excited if he was over a ppg at this stage, but he hasn't fallen so far off the mark that he already looks like a wasted pick.

Yeah it's a bit of both.

I think he's doing better than a lot of people expected.

And OJHL to NCAA is a huge step even in a weak conference. So being around a PPG is good.

But the thing that limits the excitement is his age. If he was 18/19 and doing this in his draft+1 we'd all be pretty excited. But with him being 20 turning 21 in May that kind of deflates the excitement a bit.

Pretty much where I'm at. As a reference, Suniev is younger, plays in a harder conference and has more points than Hoskin does.

I think there's a shot with Hoskin though! I'd like to see him move to a better conference next season if possible.

Agreed, he seems like a boom or bust type of pick. Let the kid marinade and see how he grows as a player.

Aydar is going to be the real deal in my humble opinion. There's more to the kid than just the numbers. It's the way that the numbers are progressing. The eye test from watching tape of the kid. You can just see the chip on his shoulder that he plays with. His coaches talking about how his sole mission in life is to make the NHL. This is one of those kids where it seems that the stars align for them to make the show and be impactful.

Littler gets no points, and was -1, as #14 North Dakota falls to #4 Western Michigan by a score of 3-2. 19gp/2g/2a/4pts,+6, 21 PIM.

Hoskin gets 1a, and was even, in a 5-1 loss to Mercyhurst. 23gp/7g/13a/20pts,+1, 6 PIM. He is tied for 51st in NCAA scoring.

Arseniiii-0!

Hoping this guy can step up to the Wranglers next season. Always good to have a goalie on the back burner.

Suniev has an NHL wrist shot. High ceiling, low floor.

But he’s good at the hardest thing to do in hockey: score goals. As Reggie said, hopefully he signs and plays for the Wranglers next season

His only major weakness by all accounts is his skating, which hopefully can be improved on with some work with Danielle Fujita. She seems to be doing amazing work with players, the flames are lucky to have her.

Suniev nominated for the Hobey Baker:

This is the long list. It gets narrowed down to 10 then top 3.
