Well that's all good stuff. Why would you need research, if god has all the answers? I know people say the fear is exaggerated, but I really think this is just the beginning of the slide into totalitarianism. What reasonable explanation can anyone provide for actions like this?

Yeah, didn't know much about her either, so figured it could just be for the camera.

But did some lunchtime reading on her and she's peculiar.

Grew up in a (assumed) wealthier family in San Diego, to Indian immigrant parents. Her parents were both academics as was she. Taught English in China after undergrad, where she was a volunteer and academic. After that she got a masters in philosophy then immediately to Harvard Law where she met JD.

By all accounts, the two of them are diametrically opposed people. A sort of "opposites attract" type of relationship.

She was a registered democrat until 2014 when they got married. She then switched to independent until 2022 when she switched to Republican as her husband was gaining momentum.

In 2014, after law school, she clerked for 3 conservative judges, including Kavanaugh and Roberts. This is around the same time JD began his political career.

One could also argue that JD Vance wasn't a sniveling Trump sniffer until a few years ago - and is largely tied to his rise within the party - and likely presidential run in the near future. To say he isn't being a pragmatic self-server would be a lie.

I don't understand how you can be married to someone so diametrically opposed, politically.

Prior to Trump-licking, Vance was mainly a proponent of lifting up the rust belt economies and, arguably, expanding the middle class. Not crazy RW policies that a spouse would be angry with.

But this new Vance is a little wiener. who knows what their bed time routine is like?

Under progressive policies, many American voters feel they are actually doing more damage than helping. These voters point to the dilution of what constitutes a woman, basically to any human that identifies mentally as one. The only reason Americans give two flying ####s about trans people is because conservatives have been telling them they should give tow flying ####s about them for the past 5 years. Nobody cares that much about an issue that has zero effect on their lives, unless they've been convinced by ####faces that they need to care about it. That's the issue, not that progressives are only trying to protect the rights of people who frankly have it hard enough in life. It's a cruel kettle of bull#### manufactured by people who want this to be a battleground. The everyday American(and Canadian!) has zero reasons to care about it, and the fact you have also convinced yourself they do have reasons to care show exactly how little thought or compassion you have put into your position.

The only thing progressives can be blamed is that they also took the bait. But at least they were just trying to help. Try to remember there are actual people being victimized here, and it sure as #### isn't the people you think.

The menstrual products in men's bathrooms is such a dogwhistle, and intellectually ingenuous.
I know this because I've taken time over the past twenty years to listen to my trans friends, and understanding that a big part of it was having it in locker rooms in schools - because when the girls team travels to an away event, they use the boys locker room at the the school, because the home team uses the girls' room.

But here's the thing with folks on both sides of the border - it's just a distraction. It's the shiny toy to get frothed up about so they can't see that what used to be known as conservatives are no longer so, especially when it comes to fiscal policy.

How the eff does having menstrual products in a boys/men's affect any male that doesn't need them? Other than understanding that someone needs them, or that trans people exist. That's it.
