It had better be an improvement on the Dodge Charger EV because that one is probably the worst EV out there. High Price, awful battery charging, no range, iffy power, and an engine noise from a speaker.
I saw some video where there's like 2600 of those for sale right now at dealerships in the U.S...they've sold 75 in the last 45 days. At this pace they have like a 4 plus year supply of them to try and off.
They need a new Dukes of Hazzard EV reboot where the production company agrees to buy these for the purpose of wrecking them.

If anyone was following Canoo, that company is essentially dead now, employess are all being let go, their assets are being auctioned off, and they have declared bankruptcy, after building about 20ish vehicles, mostly to governments (USPS) and walmart.

It's a shame because the Canoo "Lifestyle Vehicle" minivan thing looked kinda neat, like if a SMEG toaster and a VW ID. Buzz had a one-night stand.
Aside: I can't believe the starting price on the VW ID. Buzz is eighty grand; sort of missing the target demographic's income level with that.

Up to ~3300km on my Escape PHEV and I think I've visited the gas station 3 times since I got it in September.
I WFH so I'm not driving it a whole lot, unless I'm going to the mountains I barely use the ICE. But it's there when I do need it. Range takes a major hit in the winter, but enough to get around the city day to day.

We've had a Model S for 9 years and are now looking at getting a luxury PHEV to replace it. We won't get anything for the Model S. It's almost tempting to keep it just to see how long it will last.

Why are you going PHEV after having adjusted to full EV?
Hopefully it's got another 10+ years in it. ICE, EV or PHEV, vehicles should last at least 20 years IMO.
Ram should definitely drop their EV plans and just focus on building and bringing the Ramcharger to market. They could really dominate that corner of the market until Ford, GM and Toyota catch up.
My assumption would be long road trips and/or winter range hit?
Yes, that's pretty much it. We go to the mountains every weekend in the winter for my sons ski club. The car is getting older. The range isn't what it used to be, as expected. A Phev gives her the ability to run on ev during the week and have the range on the weekends without having to worry about it.
