Funniest part of the end of that game last night was Texas going from down 21-14 with 1st and Goal at the one yard line, and ending the possession down 28-14. Ewers gets a lot of hate, but he wasn't the one who called a terrible pitch play from the one yard line. He wasn't amazing or anything, but he did enough for them to win and was undone by coaching malpractice. Yeah it'd be boring to put Arch in there and run four straight QB runs if you had to, but it would most likely work.
As to the title game, of course Notre Dame has a chance. It's football and it's a one game situation, we've seen it countless times with an underdog pulling it out. But Ohio State just has a much larger margin for error, I think they could win with their C-game (they just did last night), but I can't see Notre Dame winning with anything less than their A-game. 9.5 point spread to open sounds about right, maybe a touch lower than I expected.

Not sure where else to post this but for those that remember "the run" in 2013 from a very young Nebraska fan who had brain cancer....sadly he passed away today after a long and mighty battle.
Of all the issue the playoff has, the title game being tonight with no hype whatsoever is probably #1. We've had two rounds of NFL playoffs since the last NCAAF game. Cannot remember a title game with less excitement, and this is one with the two marquee programs mind you. Gotta figure out how to end this earlier.

Yup....cannot be going head to head with the NFL. Especially playing the same sport.
Think they have to get this game occurring on New Years Day. Which means starting everything at least 3 weeks earlier.

Living in the US, it seems like everyone in my circle has been talking about this game today and all week. I'd guess the ratings are strong. It's a holiday too, and grocery store was packed with people stocking up for the game.
I have heard very little buzz about this game especially given two marquis programs. The divisional round is the best weekend of NFL football there is, they need to have this game a week earlier. All in all though, I’ve been a big fan of the playoffs.
Yeah, credit to Notre Dame for having a ton of heart, but this is a massive mismatch in terms of talent. Feels like the only prayer Notre Dame has to stay in this is to try the surprise onside kick after halftime, or it'll be at least 24-7 by the time they get the ball next and they don't have the passing offense for that kind of rally.

Yeah D can't get off the field, just overmatched. 15 five star recruits vs 1. Irish are solid, but State offence is too dynamic. We'll always have that glorious 10 minute 1st drive..
