The thing with "content creators" (besides the obvious) is that they can go to any platform they want. They aren't out of business. This is the way the internet works. Something starts sucking, or get shut down, people move.


How many people are still on Xitter? 12? 15? Anyone with a functioning pre-frontal cortex has gone elsewhere, I'd imagine they'll find a new home soon too. It absolutely shouldn't be a consideration in the discussions. We don't need to go around pretending one specific techno-robber baron is essential to our way of life. We'll be just fine without them.

TikTok gets way too much attention for what it is. A buddy of mine got into it so I tried it out for a couple days...it's dumb even for social media standards. Ever watch "news feeds" on there? Good lord... I don't even mean this as a dig, it literally seems like it's meant for teenagers only.

I deleted it within 48 hours, and I'm one of those dummies still on Twitter (the live sports takes are just too good, all the big sports reporters are still on there).

Some of us 30+ people might think TikTok is stupid, but if people are able to make money on it broadcasting whatever it is they’re doing, I don’t see it differently than a TV station.

It’s like people who crap on “podcasts” in general. You mean RADIO? Doesn’t matter which ones are popular or not or why or what their titles are or who’s hosting them. They are and people are there watching. You either utilize them or you don’t.

We underestimate the difficulty in moving states and countries. I think it’s darn hard, depending on one’s personal situation, family, job.
