I was wrong about him but I’m guessing the Oilers match if it was the Flames.

Backlund last night post game suggesting they weren't prepared mentally.
The team literally sat in St. Louis an additional day with nothing else to do or on their mind but get ready for that game. Holy ####.

This is who we are with normal goaltending. This is not a good team. And we will finish 9th somehow. It's the Flames way.

They did, but the only reason they beat the Kings was Wolf stood on his head in the 1st period. They could have EASILY had 2 or 3 goals in the 1st, and then that game would have looked just like this game.
This is why I am on the trade Andersson train - I absolutely LOVE the guy, but this team cannot compete with good teams. They need to remain focused on a longer term plan, and turn guys like him into assets.

Also, since Zary got injured, they have scored 2, 5 against CHI, 1 and 1. And let's be honest, any one of us probably scores against that CHI team. It was easy to predict, but it is still hard to watch: with Zary out of the lineup, this offense is absolutely anemic.

I think he meant 9th in the conference just missing a playoff spot, not 9th worst.

Scoring Winger

This team has struggled to score all year, but it is worse without Zary. The team works hard, has decent defensive structure, and good goaltending. If they could put the puck in the net, then they'd be a difficult team to match up against. They just can't score enough. So, they will get nights like these last two where they just can't get enough offence. Any night where they go down by three early will be a tough out for them.

Without Zary, teams can really focus on the Kadri line. Coronato gets some chances but Coleman has struggled this year offensively and Backlund is slowing.

And that's with Kerins! coming in and playing well as a replacement.

There were a lot of people ripping the blues this week on 960 about being a team that is just there. Sure they do not believe in the tank but 2 years ago they sold off veterans and went into the 2023 draft with 3x 1st rounders. Serivalli stated that there was no way the Blues make all those picks yet they did. This past offseason they made the 2 offer sheets to the Oilers and both players are well worth the 2nd and 3rd round pick to get them. The big argument on 960 was the Flames are in the same spot with a much lighter payroll which is true I just don’t agree the Blues have done nothing to try and get younger and remain relevant.

Agreed. They just don't have many offensive drivers on this team and Zary was one of the best ones they have.

Jesus, Huska can't look up a karaoke bar on google or something?
Even athletes need outlets unrelated to hockey to blow off steam and reset.
This team isn't good enough that it can afford to only live and breathe hockey 24/7. Get outside and touch grass (assuming they have that in St Louis).

How the hell did you get that from Backlund saying the team wasn't prepared mentally?

I know a lot of posters are starting to get fed up with the ads on their phone. It's probably going to lead to a lot less posting in general here, so you take a weekday loss against a boring team like the Blues and you may see more days without PGT's.
