Default NHL app on Google TV Streamer

I just got the new Google TV Streamer running Android 14. I'm not able to get the NHL app to function on it. It will install but it won't open. It worked on my older Google Chromecast. I saw where it isn't compatible with Google TV but that can't be possible. Is it?

The NHL app doesn't have an Android TV version. It worked on the Chromecast because it's your phone broadcasting to the TV, which still works the same on the Google TV stick. So just keep doing that

What are your thoughts on that device? Considering buying one myself and my current Chromecast is starting to act a bit funky.

Sorry, didn't see the question until now. I find it a definite upgrade over the Chromecast which I had before. The memory and storage filled quite quickly on it causing some issues. Having extra has helped a lot. It allows for higher Internet speeds as well.
I have found that the Android 14 level has limited a few things from the previous Chromecast. I can't find a monitor dot that is compatible for example. And I did have the NHL app (not for TV, just news etc) on the Chromecast but it doesn't work on this.
I would still recommend it.

No worries!

On the bolded part, I experience that too. What's odd is I have 2 of them. Both see similar usage but one performs flawlessly while the other one (newer), YouTube seems to just stop working sometimes. Thumbnails don't load and content buffers a lot.
