Default These ads are getting out of hand

Now they pop up and you can’t scroll over to the button to get rid of them. I’m all for revenue generation but please make them less aggressive.

Maybe look at creating an ad free forum option for a yearly fee or something. I'm fairly certain a good amount of members would like that option. Not sure if that's feasible but just a suggestion.

How are people not using ad blockers in this day and age? If it drives revenue for the site I am all for them.

If you’re using an ad blocker, I don’t think the site gets revenue. It would be better to do a yearly fundraiser or something. A couple of big wigs can donate a few bucks to keep the site free, and ad free, for all.

Not even usable anymore on a mobile phone, which constitutes the majority of my use of the site. Screen is 90% ad, which often cannot be closed for several minutes at a time. The way I will likely deal with it is to generally use and post on the site less.

Use Brave Browser my guy. I tried Safari out on my phone to see the fuss and they are the worst ads I've ever seen on a website...Not surprising why this fourm is a ghost town now.

I’d support that idea if that was an option, currently it is either Adblock the website or deal with terrible ads. I have a worry about why these ads are happening but quite honestly there is a choice for the owners to make.

If it continues to become an issue I have an idea to solve it, not that I want to lose this forum but these ads are ridiculous.

Cut the crap

Brave browser and BAT coin for the win.

YouTube is also enjoyable using Brave on desktop and mobile

Do you find it drains battery? I usually surf with my phone or computer plugged in. Brave defenitly works like a charm killing ads!

Wonder what it costs to run a site like this? There were just under 800 members online today. And currently 2000ish guests browsing.

I’m all for ads and the site making revenue. The new ads where they cover half the page and can’t be closed are challenging.

Calgary Puck could do some great merchandising. Make a hockey Jersey or golf shirt or hat. Or a lunch box with Locke on it munching on a cheese and peanut butter sandwich.

It would make bank.

uBlock on Firefox for PC and Duckduckgo on Android, haven't seen an ad in years.
Now I'm feeling guilty, Paypal link is down but i'll donate some money when it's back up.

Fun solution: everyone who hates it... send Bingo $100. Less than a days worth of work if it's so annoying
