Does this honestly need to be made clear? "F'n sign the man (to a long term deal with summer!", is that simple enough for you? Did you think I thought he was without a contract right now?

I thought you meant for beyond this season.
But be an #######,...you are splendid at it.
Or to play your childish game....do you think they aren't going to sign him?

Thank you
I'm hoping Conroy is different than Treliving was and doesn't fiddle and diddle with his star players. Give Wolf an eight year deal and make it big.

I don't like giving out big deals based on one year of data. I think they should let this season play out, and half of next season, then assess. If he continues to do what he is currently doing (base case), great, 8X$8, or whatever it takes. If (like so many 2nd year players) things don't go quite as well next year, the contract could look significantly different.

Great, wait for two years of data and pay more. The cap is going to skyrocket in the new years, we won't even blink at those numbers for Wolf in that time.

Getting more data is not a bad thing - especially for goalies. If he proves he is a consistent star - GREAT! pay the man!

I think this is a good approach as well. Let the sample size grow and then when they're at the point a contract offer needs to be made, don't lowball him.
Unless Wolf really just wants to get it done early, because I don't know, maybe he wants the peace of mind in case something were to happen like an injury. But with a smaller sample size, there is more uncertainty, which would have to come with some kind of discount for the team to make the gamble more palatable.

No one is saying less data is better. The idea is Wolf is the kind of player you take the risk on with term and money.

Goalie contracts are rising. Laugh all you want. Shesterkin for 12.5 and right now Wolf is having a better rookie season than Jake did and he was handed a 8.25 extension after a 3 year bridge.
We can bridge and he can ask for a trade or take his QO and go to free agency and cash in. We can just ignore that troll Transplant.

#1 Goaltender
|
I'd go a step further and say he'll be the best goaltender in Flames history if he sticks around 10+ years.
I think he's basically a lock for multiple Vezina's if he stays healthy.
Never seen anything like him in the net.

Certainly possible although its a very high bar.
See what he does as a true #1 first though before breaking the bank.

Hilarious tho. He’s going to stop us from picking top 10 ever or 5 rebuild over we need to find a new way to do things.
Wait we shouldn’t pay him we need a larger sample size. He needs to play better teams. This isn’t good enough.
