I like fried chicken, but it seems like everyones just jumping on the chicken trend.

Meanwhile there's not one place to have an authentic Philly cheesesteak in this town.

True. But you know Calgary will make that crappy. Like a smashburger, simple and cheap, nope it’s gotta be $19 for a burger frill of drizzles.

That’s another thing….fata drizzles and “authentic” tacos that are 98% cabbage and drizzles.

I want quality items that will last, not disposable items. Maybe some people prefer those, and thats their business and thats fine, to each their own, but its not mine.

A good Wonton is hard to come by, and almost fairly rare, but moreover, getting the really good broth is critical and theirs was fantastic.

Also, I believe that their wonton soup was cooked in the fires of Mount Doom (<-great name for a Mountain by the way) because I'd quickly hop over there and by the time I'd gotten back to my office the plastic container they put the soup in had melted and deformed, it was like a race to get it back to my office and into a bowl.

Thats how you knew it was good!

We drove around and around in HongKong looking for a place to eat at 10pm. Had to stop because my kids needed to go to the bathroom and we stopped right in front if a michelin star wonton place. Shrimp and crab wontons. it was amazing

It's stunning really. I asked on here a couple years ago waiting for a nice influx of places to try. The responses were "nothing" and "this place tries to do it and it's okay".

I'd like a place that does good roast chicken. It seems like Swiss Chalet is the only option and then I find its only palatable drowned in their, sweet, sweet Chalet sauce because its made from the tears of orphans, Unicorn blood and presumably pure cocaine.

Yeah, it's a puzzler... I'm no restaurant operator, but sometimes when I think about it, I might want to be. It's one of those items that has few ingredients, should be easy to replicate once perfected, and doesn't need an expensive/fancy venue (probably the more direct/blue collar, the more authentic it comes across). You could have a food truck doing the office/industrial park circuit during lunch, and serve the bar/event crowd at night.

It's beef and melted cheese, I don't see how that wouldn't be a hit. But nope, let's open the 20th chicken sandwich place instead.
