More or less agree with your list other than Pachal and Pospisil. I would give them B+ based on expectations.

My thoughts:
FBI - possibly a bit high on the coaching side, but I'm pretty OK with the player ratings, though with Kadri it would be nice to have a bracket depending on which Naz shows up in any given moment.
Comix: pretty harsh on Huby. He isn't responsible for his salary. Based on play, and compared to engagement with other players, a B or so is not unreasonable. Would we like more? Sure...but you can't rate him based on a salary he didn't set.
Harsh on Bahl too...I think he's been surprisingly reliable.
Given the incredible ups and downs ALL players have had this year (and sometimes the entire team as a group!), with some exceptions, coming up with one rating for them is pretty tough. Coleman has been lights out some games and invisible in others; Raz similarly...there's games you love him and games where he just farts around on the PP and in the back end. Hard to rate overall.
Any way you cut it though, as a group, it's surprising that they're only a single point out of a WC spot given what we all expected. How management decides to proceed will make for interesting entertainment here on CP.

Bahl: Big, and has shown strengths, but ultimately I'm left questioning if he's a Top-4 on a good team. I think he's a bottom pair guy. Bahl + Pachal would be a good 3rd pair
Huberdeau: 60 point pace, $10.5M will never be acceptable. Yes, this is the best he's looked but it's still nowhere near good enough. He is producing at 60% of what his salary dictates he should be. When you look at him and his salary vs. the league, there's just no downplaying this. If he can get this to a 70 point pace, he'll be a "C".

How do you not rate a player relative to their salary? Isn't that exactly how you determine if someone is having a successful season?

Team is mid as hell. Better give everyone a participation A or B - or so says the same group of critics who don’t actually bring their own opinions to the table, just critique others.
Huberdeau makes $10.5M, is on pace for 60 points on a team that is on pace to finish what? 17th?
Give that man a raise, honour him as forever a Flame, and give him an A+.

I would rate them against expectations, but that's just me. Nothing can be done about his salary, it's a sunk cost. And it isn't his fault.

Why bother with that crap? The OP wasn't rating the team, they were rating the players individually. If you're just going to start and end with "i think the team is mid as hell", why bother doing any ratings at all.
Some of you are so desperate to #### on the team, you just can't let any positive comments get by, can you?

I see where you're coming from, but a lot of people base their expectations of a player based on the production in the last year or two.
Huberdeau isn't playing at a $10.5M clip, that's fair, but he's a lot better than the 12-15G, 55P LW that would disappear offensively for a month.
At the same time Bahl is paid $1M, he's holding his own in a top 4 role. He's already having a career year in points. It's also only his 2nd full year in the league. IMO if you're grading based on the contracts then he should be paid at least $3.5M, and have a higher grade.
Out of the Fs Kirkland as a player of no consequence got the Flames a couple of extra points in the shootout, which is already great at league min. Hanley solidified the Weegar pairing, and they've been one of the top pairings in the league based on analytics. Weegar should get most of the credit, but Hanley deserves some kudos as well.
I think that inconsisteny could make your grades seem a bit biased or as an attempt to take a dump on a couple of players. Personally I don't mind your perspective, and it's a fun discussion.

The fact that the team is mid speaks positively about the players. This isn't a roster that should be competing for a playoff spot.

I get Huberdeau if you are still expecting him to play up to his salary. Bahl is a wild one

I think most people knew guys like Kadri and Huberdeau got paid for what they DID, not what they will be doing.
It's easier to use salary vs production when you are paying a young player to produce. Like Lindholm and Hanifin, or Andersson. 2/3 are now getting paid for what they did in Calgary under those deals.

For sure but Kadri has had a pretty reasonable curve so far but Huberdeau fell off a cliff. No one would be mad if he was working his way down from a PPG pace.

Kadri is right at his career average points wise, he is on track for 58.
It's a lot harder to maintain a 100 plus point pace as you age into your 30's. PPG wouldn't have been bad kind of what I was expecting.
I think his confidence was shattered his first season here, and it has taken a while to get it back.

Would you rather have Huberdeau on pace for 36 goals or Lindholm who has 7-13-20 through half the season.

The general crowd, just seeing if we are getting closer to being satisfied with Huberdeau for a bit. Paying Elias at 7.7 for his crap play would be worse IMO.
