After watching a bit of Cowan at the WJC, he seems like a puckhog, and that's how he puts up points. If you can't use your teammates, you are not going to have success as a professional.
After watching him, I can rest easy knowing he’s not on a list of players the flames are interested in.

As noted it was an example provided by Dreger. Toronto hasn’t made any offers etc. that was just Dregs giving an idea using Toronto of what the Flames could get back package wise. Calm down folks

Well if he eventually wins a cup he will end up experiencing success as a professional
Would prefer Minten between the two because he’s a center but I think at most he’ll be a bottom 6/3rd line center… would prefer just not dealing with Toronto personally.

I read all the comments as if this was understood.

This is a thread where people post deal suggestions. Dreger's proposal was terrible and people are just saying that. Not sure the 'calm down' is really warranted. LOL

He suggested Anderson is worth a 1st, a B prospect, and a warm body. Which seems about right.
If Anderson trade talks really do ramp up, people are going to whip themselves into fantastical expectations, and #### on any remotely realistic deals. Just like they did last season with all the pending UFAs.

It wasn’t a warm body it was phrased as a cap dump. No doubt we will have to take salary back but that’s doing the other team a favour so that B prospect becomes an A prospect. Or they can add another 1st.
Travis Hamonic a far worse player got a 1st and 2 2nds.
Dreger is Nonis cousin so he probably has some intel on this. Have to think the Flames have started to internally map out what they want for Andersson.
He probably used that nasty Toronto package because he loves the Leafs.

He’s probably helping his cousin lower expectations of the return so the Flames don’t get roasted.

One of my dream targets for the flames is Nate Danielson from the wings. Red Deer kid too. If Cowan is being thrown out there by Dreger as a possible piece, maybe Danielson isnt THAT far off

Agreed. Danielson would be a dream prospect to get in an Andersson trade. Reminds me of Monahan with speed.

No it doesn't. At next year's trade deadline, that's what he'd be worth. This year, he is worth a 1st + A prospect or 1st + B+ prospect + 2nd a worst.
Getting a late 1st + Cowan would be a pretty weak return for Andersson (this year).
Nic Robertson is a throw-in - not a cap dump, but nothing of value. Like adding Pelletier to a deal - it sounds like more return, but really isn't in the grand scheme of things, because those types of players are easily replacable.

I would value Andersson roughly at two first round picks. Whether it is a 1st + two 2nd round picks, or 1st in 2025 +1st in 2026, or 1st + 2nd +B-prospect, or 1st + A prospect.
Hamonic got a 1st + two 2nd round picks. Hamonic was brought in at the time because he was seen as one of the league's better defensive defencemen on a sweetheart of a deal, plus was also seen as a high-character guy, a glue guy in the room, and wasn't shy about sticking up for teammates. All of the above was indeed true except his defensive ability, with hindsight that is, as I believe he was carried by Calvin de Haan on that pairing.
If there are divisional rival bids for Rasmus (like Tampa-Florida, or Vancouver - Edmonton, or Winnipeg - Colorado - Minnesota, etc) then I think the price can be driven up beyond that. Teams will pay a bit more to keep the asset from going to a rival, right?
As for the Pastrnak - Marchand rumours.. complete B.S. (and what you didn't see coming out of Vancouver at all):
Nick Robertson is a 5’9 winger. First of all we are overloaded at wing so he wouldn’t be getting any opportunities here. He is also a just a toss in he’s not some valuable asset.
My value on Andersson is today not next TDL. Dreger packager is based off what Vegas paid for Hanifin so yeah if we wait until next year we have likely sabotaged the value of the asset.
