They should setup dropoff zones on the far side of the school around the sports fields. Teach 'em young that you don't need to be directly in front of a door when finding parking, and there are typically 2-3 roads adjacent to it. Disabled/wounded kids can still use the close spot, though. And for the kids who walk, they don't have nearly as much chaos in front of the school to navigate to. Not going to work with all schools, but maybe, I dunno, try something different?

I still think a rudimentary catapult system is in order, or the Canadian Government can demand that an ejector-seat should be mandatory in all cars.

So apart from all the general nuttiness, you had everyone trying to dodge construction workers and their equipment.

The funny part about that one is that I believe the timing for it was because they are ahead of schedule, and it was actually slated for next spring/summer originally. So we all complain about how slow these projects go, and the one time they are ahead, it actually creates a massive problem for a lot of people.
I also enjoy the neighbourhood complaints about the part of the project that was temporarily done in asphalt to get by until next spring. Everyone assumes it's some incompetence by the city and a waste of money, and fails to notice the power poles for the overhead power lines right in the middle of said asphalt. Cuz yeah, should have been simple to also relocate all of the utilities to the new underground route between there and Edmonton trail I guess. We're all experts, and know better!

City logistics...
Sunnyside used to be a gem of a school.

Former mayor, Rod Sykes has passed away. He was 95. He was mayor from 1969 to 1977.
Al Duerr is now the oldest former mayor at 73 and Calgary only has 3 living former mayors (Bronco and Nenshi too).

Met him once going door to door for an organization offering help to people affected by the 2013 flooding. He was a miserable prick, and stands out as the only negative interaction of that day.

Let me be the first to complain about the property assessment increases and tax hikes this year as mine assessment is up 16% this year. Damn you City of Calgary!
