Do you mean the Toyota Alphard?

In any case, those are amazing! They have a lock on the chauffeur segment in Asia that the Escalades of North America could only dream of... and for good reason - I take them all over HK and Singapore and the second row passenger seats are amazing, like biz-class-rivalling.

Still limited practicality like a typical Sienna, but as far as a place to be while being driven, I'd say they surpass the S Classes and rival the RRs.

The toyota is such a utilitarian vehicle now, just basic, but very reliable transportation. if a person is looking for creature comforts and some nice tech, Toyota is not the route to go

I don’t remember there being much difference for the 2024 Prime SE vs the 2025 Tucson Ultimate PHeV, they were both roughly $60k after the rebate, but before the rest of the random fees. The Hyundai looked better on paper, but the ICE and transmission in the Hyundai felt a lot worse than the one in the Toyota in real life. Creature comfort wise, the Hyundai had more gadgets, but my concerns were more things that could go wrong and the resale value.

I'd only seen in badged as a Lexus LM, but glad to know about the Alphard. Looks like there's even a handful for sale in Canada. I think I saw one in Calgary once, but couldn't figure out the model name.

Hmmmm...RHD might actually be pretty nifty for daily chauffeur duty...maybe I'll set up a kijiji alert

BTW I will be selling my 23 Si in the spring so any of you Honda lovers interested in a low mileage, extremely well maintained Si, can PM me. It's just a matter of getting a delivery date for my new vehicle so timing dependant when it's going to be available. I'm probably one of the best owners out there to buy a vehicle from because of my OCD.

A 23 is too new for my purposes. If it was an older Civic I’d be all over it.

Just curious Erick, what are you buying?

I always thought you were a BMW guy.

Yeah, no casually dropping "my new vehicle" and not at least giving us a damn hint.

If anyone is looking for trucks, I'm looking to sell off the following to help me fund a manual transmission Tacoma or Bronco (preferred):

- 2021 F-150 loaded Lariat with 50,000 km (garage parked)
- 2012 Dodge 3500 Diesel Longhorn with 300,000 km (on driveway, previous owner was a Mechanic)

Dude, get the Taco. The Bronco (not sport version) is very cool but it’s quickly become the #1 choice for dweeb mall crawlers.

Make sure you are comfortable in a Taco, I find the footwell depth too shallow, and find them fatiguing to sit in long.

Ick, no, definitely get the Bronco. The Tacoma has been having countless issues since the redesign. In the new model, Toyota's only putting four-bangers in them, which would have been a great fuel economy story except the damn fuel tanks are so small that you'll get more range per tank out of a V8 Tundra (Tacoma dropped ~12 litres in tank capacity from the last gen). The Bronco 4-door has a more typical 78 litre tank.

Plus I think they're kinda fugly and overdesigned (someone said 'the Warthog from Halo' and now I can't unsee it), but that's more a commentary on Toyota/Lexus' corporate design language than it is the model itself.

Get an older Taco then.

Can’t take advice on dweeb mall crawlers from a guy who likes the new Range Rover.

I'd like a 2 door Heritage manual Bronco. The 4A in the drivetrain is awesome from Ford!

I've never been a brand loyal guy as I've owned nearly ever brand over the years save for a small handful of obscure brands or exotic. It's a total 180 for me but a 2025 Bronco Badlands w/manual transmission. I was always somewhat interested in a Bronco but the MIC top is #### and for 2025 painted MOD tops are now available. The Civic was a bridge car for me while I was getting a divorce but I just find the roads in Calgary now are in such bad shape I've grown tired of the paranoia of having to dodge every pothole and wheel repairs, etc. I've only really owned myself one SUV as my daily driver and that was an X3M Comp and while not my favorite vehicle ever, it was maybe the only one that I could drive and not worry about road conditions, parking blocks scraping front ends, etc so I figured I would try a vehicle type like that but a bit more extreme which is the Jeep/Bronco segment. My only reservation is Ford reliability/build quality is generally poor but I figured I would start my new single life on a different note and do things a little differently from the past and tick a different box on the vehicle ownership list. It may or may not work out but at least it's different.

The majority of supercars? I'm curious which ones you're thinking of that can't pull a 3.6? Hell, there's 10 or 15 SUVs you can buy right now that are sub 3.5.

I'm assuming this is true only because the other vehicles weren't actually attempting (or capable enough of a driver) to reach 100 kmph in <5 seconds.

you're absolutely right, if you consider electric or a lambo/porsche/ferrari that are a tad more expensive
