Bumping this, I would love a description too

Most coaches would see it as you need to replace Zary's skill and get this guy in right away, hence why Kerins got the call.
Not sure Huska sees it the same. His instincts around the offensive side of the game aren't quite there.
At least he's figured out that Kerins isn't a grinder... it's a start, I suppose.

I was just looking back a pre-season rosters and yeah Kerins has never even dressed for the Flames in a pre-season game.
That has to be pretty rare for a guy (who wasn't a college guy) who was eligible to play for the Flames in any of the last 5 pre-seasons, to not get a single pre-season game in any of those seasons, to then actually get called up in the season.
So with that in mind it's not super surprising to me that they might want to work him in to a practice or two first before he plays against the Kings.

Proving some skeptics wrong.
When was the last time a Flame call-up spent significant time in the ECHL? Brett Kulak comes to mind.

Huska and Conroy, in the short time they’ve been here, have done nothing but bring prospects along the right way. To suggest that they aren’t on the same page or that Huska doesn’t know what he’s doing seems pretty odd at this point.

It's just another over-reaction. He said he's going to play. It's not irrational to want him to practice with the team a bit before coming in. And you have other options including elevating Kuzmenko to a more offensive line.
There is no rationale reason to be worried that he's not playing on Saturday. It'll happen.

Zary on IR so that means he'll miss at least 7 days. There's 4 games over that time, and I highly doubt Zary returns next Saturday against Winnipeg. Then there's a a bit of time off. So at least 5 games for Kerins to draw in. If he doesn't play tomorrow (and he shouldn't, let him learn a team system or two first) he'll have a minimum of 4 more games to get in the lineup.

Watching one game against the kings is a pretty good move as well. Then let him go on the road trip and get his first action against the Hawks

The coach also mentioned that he wanted to give Sharangovich some time at center to see if he could get the puck on his stick a bit more...and he actually looked better in the third and OT last game once he did shift to center.

Usually the organization flies in the parents for a first-ever NHL game. Are they headed to Calgary or Chicago?

He's motivated the team well, and the defensive structure has been excellent given that they can't score many goals and have to win low scoring affairs to have any success.
I just don't trust his instincts around offense and employment of forwards.
He stumbled into the Huberdeau line that finally worked by what seems like chance, after 1 and 1/4 seasons of fumbling in the dark. And his line mixing when they've needed to conjure a goal late has been questionable.
Hopefully him and Conroy are on the same page and there isn't any dawdling or putting a grinder in Zary's spot instead of the guy that was called up for his abilities and skill set.
We'll see. He will need to be eased in, but he needs to get in here regardless.

I don't disagree with your overall concern on Huska's forward deployment but really I don't think going with Pelletier-Sharangovich-Kuzmenko is "putting a grinder in Zary's spot"
The real concern will be that if Sharangovich looks really good at center tomorrow then it might be tough to get Kerins in the lineup.
But in terms of him not immediately playing it's not uncommon for a guy to get a couple practices before playing on their first call up, especially since he's never even played an NHL pre-season game before.

If Huska doesn't play Kerins tomorrow, he'll be a bust, and it will all be Huska's fault.

In reality, it will probably be something practical like "Roar" or "Kerry".
Congratulations, Rory, your hard work had paid off, and now you get to live your dream. Enjoy it, you earned it.
