The forces he would have been carrying in that leg while cutting in would have been quite high in terms of lateral loading AND torque... extremely vulnerable position to be in.

And the way his leg deflects backwards at time of contact is outside of what even hypermobile tissue would allow.

His reaction was immediate. His pain presentation on the ice (grabbing above the knee) could be indicative of the point of contact rather than total damage present, or a simple gut reaction to try and stabilize the leg after a catastrophic failure. Really hope nothing in the adductor got messed up, too.

Either way... really, really hard to watch.

Thanks for what appears to be an educated analysis! Ugh

Putting out positive vibes that the injury may not be as bad as we think.

No movement on the call-up front for now.

The more Francis pushes this as a sure thing the more I expect to see Klapka or Hunt

You got it wrong
“A no brainer” isn’t referring the call up as a sure thing, its his signature at the end of the tweet

I wouldn't mind Klapka, but I agree it would be nice to see someone fresh like Kerins.

If it were Treliving still running the team, we'd probably get Frk or Bishop.

Francis is the epitomy of a no brainer

Nah my guess is Conroy has told him who's up next and he's just repeating it as many times as possible publicly in order to do an eventual victory lap as some sort of roster and thus hockey savant.

If it was Treliving he would have traded a 3rd round pick for a UFA 6/7 dman.

Considering the position and need to evaluate the player, I think Stromgren is a no brainer. He's been on fire for about the entire 2024 calendar year now and doesn't look to be slowing down this month either.

Agreed, I would also guess he will be at practice today, and that Zary is placed on IR

Flames need to recall a center, not a winger.

If Kerins is called up, I would expect him to be sent back down by Jan 31 so he can be in the AHL all-star game.
