Ooh right, forgot about the lasagna, yeah it's incredible. Damn, now I gotta make a stop there soon. Even the caesars are on point.

Right, fine, be that way. I prefer appropriate spelling!

I don't think this gets covered enough. And whatever US buyers are leaving behind gets snapped up by Uber and Skip drivers. Almost any older Honda or Toyota has a brand new reg plate and an orange or red cooler bag in the back seat.

They freeze almost all of it right when it comes out of the ocean.
Also the “actual fresh” thing is noticeable to nobody… you’re being a snob on an unsnobby thing. It’s silly.

Do US buyers not have to deal with the same hassles as the other way around when importing a vehicle?

But am I asking for an anchovy pizza like a secret menu item? Or am I asking for a really good pizza with anchovy addition like a good "surprise me" recommendation?

I just sold my car to a guy down in Maryland. It's more of an enthusiast car as opposed to a daily driver, but the majority of the people who were serious were from the US. There's definitely paper work hassle and cost to bring it over the border, but clearly the price difference right now is worth it for them.

I believe they did a study in Denmark that measured the quality of fresh vs frozen, and fresh only surpassed frozen if it was caught that day. As soon as the next day after catch, frozen surpassed fresh in quality.
Any “fresh” seafood in Alberta would be of inferior quality to frozen. It’s why even coastal areas with abundant access to seafood freeze the fish and why basically every chef who understands fish prefers frozen.

I can't remember where it was but I had anchovy in a salad (not Caesar) that was really good.

Dealer's choice. I liked adding anchovies and they bake them in. Depends on what you want.

I am one that would never ask for anchovies on a pizza, but I met a friend for a beer and he had ordered a pizza from Acme that was basically a veggie pizza with anchovies.
Would never order it, and have never since, but it was awesome.
I am a big fan of Acme though.

It’s the best way. Catch the fish yourself, frozen and on the plane home with you!

I have brought in several cars from the US into Canada when the CAD/USD was closer to par. There was some paperwork but nothing crazy with some little patience.
On the reverse I don't see it being anything harder, Canada at the time had a lot of modifications for daytime running lights, km/h dashboards and some other minor things. A lot of cars are designed for the US market with changes required for Canadian market.
I think our issue now is that a ton of US buyers are buying them up to satisfy a very big market, where as when Canadian's were doing it more, we were not putting a dent into their market and the US economy was on rocky ground post 2008 financial crisis. I was literally buying cars from dealers for profit, paying California sales tax, import duties, GST and Canadian inspection and it was still worth it.

Maybe it’s coincidence but the best salmon I’ve ever had was one I had caught about 5 hours prior and freshly filleted / cooked. Might be the whole experience of the salmon but it still sticks out as the best I’ve ever tasted.

Fresh or frozen sardines and anchovies are actually extremely tasty very lightly fried in good EVOO with a light dusting of flower. More lemon and EVOO on top with a nice salad and veggies and you have the healthiest, cheapest, easy to make meal around.

The process to import a car from Canada into the US is actually less smooth that importing from the US to here.
Normally I'd call shenanigans on your post, as no out of state (or country) purchaser should be subject to paying California sale tax, but for some reason, in your case, I find it completely believable that you did.
