Only way a trade like that happens is if Connie has some serious dirt on Ron Francis. Anyone know if they've been on a wild road trip together or anything along those lines?

Im going with Shane told them i am done with you guys i only want to play in Calgary.

Realistically the only way i see Seattle giving up on him is if they or he are done, but as i stated earlier it sounds to good to be true.

I thought it was talked about last season that Seattle is having doubts about Wright and his attitude.

Have no info for sure but attitude was a concern from what little i can recall about his draft but was seriously considered for first overall and attitude may be a part if the reason why he wasnt .

At his age and skill he is still worth taking a chance on especially if the ask is anything like that rumour. Personally dont think Pelletier will be much more than a lundmark. So that and a little more would be a small price to pay and we have a whole lotta wingers.

Ron Francis comes off as someone who stuck to Shirley Temple's when he was on the road with Lemieux, Jagr, Stevens, Barrasso, and Coffey. Francis needed to be the designated driver on those Penguins teams.

I've reached out to check its authenticity.

Proposal:

SEA acquires: Vladar + Pelletier
CGY acquires: Shane Wright

Again, seems to good to be true but sharing as a few have reported this "rumor"
Zary wrecking his knee might have something to do with this.

And it saves them the money for the next 2 years after this. Grubauer has been awful for 4 years now. One of the worst free agent signings in recent memory. That would be more than a fair trade.

I wish he would have been awful in the 2019 playoffs.

Buying Grubauer out this summer would result in the following cap hits over the next four seasons.
  • $1,983,333
  • $3,083,333
  • $1,683,333
  • $1,683,333

If the Flames picked up Grubauer I suspect they would buy him out this summer. They have a better younger goalie in the AHL right now and they can afford to buy him out. If that is all it cost to get Shane Wright it would be a good deal.

I can’t see the downside for Calgary to do this.
The Kraken have about 13 million bucks to sign 4 forwards and 3 dmen. Players they would theoretically need to sign are

Kakko- starting to put up numbers in Seattle, could be as high as 4 million
Ryker Evans - 23 yr old dman on pace for around 40 points, even on a bridge deal he probably costs 3.5.

Then I guess they get another 5 player at the league minimum.

After 8 games Kakko is on pace for 4 goals and 16 assists over 32 games, he had 4 goals and 10 assists through 30 games with the Rangers this year before getting traded. It’s early obviously but mako has a long way to go before I personally would throw an AAV that starts with a 4 at him. He’s got a lot to prove still IMO.

Not likely. They can pay his full cap hit for two years while they're doing the R word and have lots of room, OR they can save money now when they don't need to, and get stuck with a cap hit in years three and four when they want flexibility.

Spending money on goaltenders. Suuuuuch a great idea.

Instead, maybe we draft again and not select a Honzek, then lock up our young stars on max term deals?

The idea is getting Shane Wright partially for taking a bad contract. Nobody actually wants the goalie

Ok, makes a bit more sense. Did this guy do anything in Coachella Valley that was more impressive than Kartye? Or is it Puljujarvi draft glitter redux?

No scenario where any 1st round pick would be added if Grubauer was involved.
If we are trading Pelletier, I’d rather see him going to Montreal for Kirby Dach, 6’4 right shot center from Alberta. Helps the Habs with salary cap as well.
