The way Zary's knee flung to the side I would imagine there will be collateral ligament damage at the least, possible cruciate ligament damage as well. He's going to be out a long time. I wouldn't be shocked to hear he's gone for the year. It was that bad, and he was in severe agony.

Honestly? I've been that guy.

That guy rolling on the ground clutching at his knee? I've been that guy. And it did cost me about a year.

Now...I wasn't a professional athlete with top-notch medical care, etc. But that look and that grab? I know that. I've been there.

For sure. I’d be shocked if he dressed the rest of the season. What a dirty play.

Unreal for Zary that's just a joke honestly.
That was as intentional as a knee on knee could be, I'm shocked we haven't heard more about a suspension.

This likely has taken Zary out for the year... could be a career alerting dirty hit.

The single biggest reason why they’re in playoff contention. Possibly the only reason.
Opposition Situational Win %

Vladar .567
Wolf .472

Starting in 2nd night of back to backs

Vladar 4
Wolf 0

Simple goalie stats don't tell the whole story.

Yeah that one looks like surgery and a year of regab. Which really sucks.

Honestly? I have zero idea. It could be severe or it could be a dead-leg bruise and he's back in a week.

I have no clue. When it comes to knees the placement of the blow is critical.

I'm hoping that Zary not being some big muscle bound guy works to his advantage here. Smaller, wiry, flexible.

Saw the Laine injury and this and it looks similar. Obviously everyone’s ligaments react differently. Hoping it’s not as bad.

They are slow-playing their prize goalie prospect.

Nothing wrong with that.

But if you switched the schedule, Vladar wouldn’t have Wolf’s numbers - you’d just be doing your super-rookie an extreme disservice.

Vladar’s numbers this year are almost exactly in line with his career stats across almost a hundred starts.

On division winners and bottom feeders, with and without a repaired hip, the results are the same - Dan Vladar is a 3.00/.890 goalie in the NHL until Dan Vladar proves he isn’t.

Wolf is and will be the better goaltender.

But he's getting the protected starts.

Vladar's stats are similar, but his deployment isn't which suggests he's actually much better this season than in the past.

He hasn't had to play mostly on the road, against the league's best, and all the back to backs possible.

Markstrom got the tougher starts for two years.

You don't know the bolded.

The knees was soccer. I got taken out hard and while the ligaments didnt tear it was actually worse, they were just pulled. You stretch them out and you cant really fix them.

My knee caps were hilariously off centre.

Lots of physiotherapy. And that was just the first round. Good times.

But we have been told that Vladar is just as good as Wolf.

At least from a few people.

I was a Vladar supporter for a few years, but it is clear he is worse than replacement level at this point. Time to move on from the big guy.
