Now you just sound silly. I’d vote PPC if someone put a gun to my head. You’d rather die than vote for dental care? Extreme.

It was a joke, relax. Not voting for Jagmeet has nothing to do with dental care though.

Now now, the supporters like to conveniently forget about things like that.

As a political pessimist I chuckle at the party line towing. Blue is bad! No red is bad! Look at this! Look what they've done! Orange is newer, they're pretty cool, because they're not blue or red! I LiKe gReEn.....
Oh, purple is a color too but it's only for white ppl. Oh and there's another blue but it's lighter and for French ppl who don't want to be a part of the country anymore.
It's an illusion of choice. You're just choosing the color of the stick they choose to f*** you with. I suppose that's a choice.

It was a suggestion! Besides, we don't have mandatory voting here, sitting out is a vote too.

Combined with some that will now give the liberals another chance. That will lead to some of those typically liberal but leaning soft blue due to Trudeau may stay liberal.
But this is the beginning of the other parties trying to tie to other liberals to Trudeau... We will see how much that works.

What’s really ####ty to see today is people with a celebratory attitude. Canada effectively has no standing government for the next 2 months while the profiteer president of the US will be assuming his role (again) in a few weeks.
Sure, Trudeau has numbered his days, and that is a good thing. The fact we are now democratically neutered until the proroguing has finished comes across as weak. Having no active government is not a good thing for anyone, the rest of the world will continue on while we are stagnant.

Let me clarify on this point, as I'm not sure it was interpreted as I intended. My “one extreme to the other” comment was speaking more to global trends swinging from left/progressive governments to right/populist ones (see political sentiment in in Argentina, Italy, France, Germany etc), not necessarily speaking to parties/policies within Canada. Extreme was perhaps too harsh a word, but I do think we’re undergoing a swing from one end of the political spectrum to another at the moment, and Trudeau/Canada was often seen as the poster child of the global progressive movement. That movement is now being reacted to from the opposite end.
Having said that, there were a few policies of the Liberals I did personally find to be out there (dare I say extreme!). I found their 500K/year immigration ramp up compared to prior trends to be way too aggressive, especially in light of our housing troubles. Considering our natural resource wealth and position in the world, I found their environment policy (and especially the minister) to be out of touch and potentially very detrimental to quality of life in Canada. I think the freezing of protester bank accounts (despite not being a fan of them) was complete political overreach, something that has had a detrimental effect on the optics of Canada as a stable place to invest. Personally, I also find any legislation around “hate speech” or “misinformation” to be extremely Orwelian, and not something I trust any government to regulate, regardless of party affiliation.
Did these issue turn the Liberals into literally Hitler (or perhaps more appropriately, literally Stalin)? Of course not, but for me those things mattered. Fiscally, I wasn’t particularly impressed, but then again it’s hard to find any government who is particularly prudent these days. I don’t expect the Conservatives to be much better…they’ll probably be spending just as much money, but on other things.
Like for the majority of Canadians, my vote tends to come down to voting Cons vs Liberals (there was one time in college where I threw my vote away on the Greens, but let’s not talk about that). I don’t think there is a massive chasm between them. My biggest beef with the Liberals is still the never ending stream of corruption, incompetence and hubris… that at some point just needs to stop being rewarded. Will the Conservatives be better? Yes, no, maybe so? I have no idea. I wear the jersey of no party, and am under no illusion that any politician or party is some sort of saviour. The Cons may be just as incompetent and corrupt (or worse) as the Liberals. But the incumbent has had a proven track record, so it’s time to give someone else a shot. I will probably be saying the same thing in 4-8 years.

Kind of ironic considering the reporter in question actually wanted to forget about it but felt she needed to issue a statement because of public pressure, and nobody involved at the time described it as sexual assault (then or when the story resurfaced).
But I’m sure Trudeau’s critics really care about the victims in these situations.

Hopefully you hold yourself to those unrealistic standards too.

Dude you cannot expect 7 year olds throwing hissy fits and calling people "stupid heads" to have self awareness, and particularly that one.
What a glorious day.
