He might prefer the KHL and make more money there but someone will give him a shot if he wants it. The skill is there, there are certainly worse players in the NHL.

Penalties aside he was one of the Flames best players last night. Should have had a goal that puck was loose.

Subliminal hint that the goal shouldn’t have happened because the draw was supposed to be in the Nashville end for that beyond obvious trip.

If they aren’t resigning him. Which I doubt they are. I would waive him and send him to the wranglers. If anyone picks him up it’s a bonus.

His game was a microcosm of the flames all night. Insanely frustrating. Dominated the Preds in chances but what really killed us, besides the terrible special teams, was not executing our chances. Man there must have been 20 almost amazing plays last night. Always just a little bit out of sync, passes bounced or a foot off target, or shots that went off target, guys a bit out of position, one too many passes etc.

On the plus side Huberdeau and Kadri looked good. We just couldn’t finish.
That’s most of the season

That would be a strange and nerve-racking 24 hours. If somebody actually claimed Kuzmenko off waivers, the Flames would be under the salary floor and forced to make a move in a hurry. Entertainment would ensue.

Many kernels of popcorn died to bring you this information.

I think they should resign him...we've got Train Stations around right?

It is the NHL that seems to change their rules on a nightly basis so I can see why players might be confused.

How does that work? They have to hit the floor pro-rated before they can play a game, without forfeiting? Or by the end of the season their total cap actually used has to be above the floor?

Either way, the Flames ability to weaponize cap gets screwed if other teams know that need to add cap.

Could they just sign an unsigned player to a contract? Is there a rule against signing really bad contracts to get to the floor? Theo Fleury and Iginla finally gets their last chance to play?

I believe they have to be above the floor by the end of business hours each day in the regular season, whether they're playing or not.

Players don't know the kicking rules or goalie interference...I have seen the stick one not called when a guy doesn't actually try and play with the broken stick but just skates around with it...I'm guessing the KHL is also called a little different.

He got 5M because he scored 74 points in 22-23...the vast majority of players in the league have never done that. Say what you want the guy has all world skill.

Not sure what him having skill has to do with knowing the rules. I’ve never see. Players skate around with a broken stick. Most toss is right away. Not sure what you can accomplish with the shaft. He raced at the puck. Pretty black and white rule.

The mushy middle sucks!
There are pretty much no trades happening now. The Flames made a bunch of veteran trades, and I bet they will make more.

They are only where they are in the standings because they’ve had unexpectedly good results from a few guys. I’ve seen nothing to indicate that Conroy has deviated from his plan of getting younger.

But it does happen.

It was a brain fart but I can see what he was thinking in the heat of the moment. He wanted to get the puck to Backlund and figured as long as he wasn't using his broken stick to gain any type of advantage he wasn't doing anything wrong. Then he realized he was.

His stick probably broke because he was tapping it so much \./

So this is the first time it was ever called? It happens if you have seen it or not is irrelevant. Its a minor penalty...kill it off.
Quinn Hughes has a playing with a broken stick penalty..ironically so does ROR. Kick them outta the league for not knowing rules.

Little details matter when you are not an everyday NHLer. Plus the team stinks on the PK.

I never said kick him out of the league because of the penalty. He will be out of the league because he isn't very good if he isn't ripping it up on the PP.

Crazy that the Flames are still 15th in the NHL.
