If he's willing to treat a teammate like this when cameras are rolling, imagine what he's like behind the scenes....
I think he's a total db.

I have a hard time basing an opinion of a player based on supposed behind the scenes interactions. It's a slippery slope.
Did Tkachuk quit on the Flames in the one season when he was asked to tone it down by teammates?
Did Backlund and Gio have beef between them?
Did Iggy and Gio?
Iggy vs. Regehr?
Did Kadri quit on the team?
Were Weegar and Kadri fighting when Kadri pushed Weegar after an OTW?
Was D. Hamilton a bad fit, or was the core itself rotten?
Professional athletes are as competitive as humans come, which leads to feelings boiling over at the workplace from time to time. It can be a fun discussion occasionally, but IMO it's wishful thinking more often than not. It's done mostly in order to justify winning a trade/moving from a core piece to a fanbase.

I get that competitiveness means that a leader can't always be a nice guy.
I get that in any group dynamic, there's a chance that a few people within it will have trouble getting along.
But I'm sorry, if you're willing to treat a teammate like that in front of the world (and it's not like JT was 100% in the right) then you're just a tool. Plus, watch JT in interviews- I just think he's an A-hole.

On his podcast, Friedman wondered out loud if Ottawa would be interested in Vladar with Ullmark hurt. Typically, he doesn't tie players to teams without knowing something.

Wishful thinking on my part:
Coleman + Vladar for Pinto
Or
Vladar for Greig

Vladar is worth the 3rd round pick the team paid for him 3.5 years ago if they get more great but I don’t see it

Taking a while to get to 5000

According to CapWages the Sens have two 3rd round picks in 2026. I could see one of those used for Vladar.
Given the deals we've seen for the Flames the past few years and Vladar's overall standing, a 3rd one year out is likley being a bit generous.

Would love to get Pinto out of Ottawa somehow. He fits right in with the age group and seems to be under-utilized in Ottawa.

The thin blue line thing makes a lot of sense now. He just has the face of a DB, and he is taking on the personality of those cops that pull you over for speeding and act like they are the ####, when they are high school dropouts trying to bully people.
First, he yells at him, smacks his stick on the net like a child, and gives me a stare down on the bench. Most likely berated him in front of his teammates after the game and went home thinking hes the man.
He has the A and thinks he runs ####.

Yeah Miller definitely comes off as an #######.
You can be competitive but still be a good teammate. He just comes off as a dick that would definitely grind on you after awhile. It seems like he's had issues with others before.
Not saying Petterson shares no blame, because he defintely seems to have his quirks as well.
But im keeping Petterson over Miller if I'm them.

Pinto or agreig would be a fantastic pickup. I've been beating this drum for abit.
I wonder if a 2nd+vladar is enough to pull one out.

It’s like hard-nosed coaches. There was a point in time where bullying was just accepted. But what has separated the bullies from the leaders is the ability to adapt and have the emotional intelligence to know what guys need what, where the line is, and how to ensure guys know you’re on their side even when you’re pushing them.
It’s why guys like Babcock and Hartley aren’t coaching in the NHL and Tortorella is.
Miller is going to have a shelf life until he figures out that being a leader is more than being an #######. If they trade EP, they’re just buying time until Miller chooses another guy to bully.

Agreed. I've never really found that to be a valid excuse for acting like a dick and throwing tantrums on the ice and in media scrums.
Iggy was one of the fiercest competitors this league has ever seen but he was a great teammate and is a great person off the ice. Instead of taking it out on his team, when he got fired up he'd find the oppositions best defenceman and kick his ass.
And yeah the Lebron and Mackinnon comparisons don't really do it for me either because one of those things are not like the others lol... and I personally haven't heard any reports of those guys essentially bullying teammates.

LOL. Start the freaking car.
Really weird that people think Greig is worth so much less than Pinto. Or less at all, really.

If we keep our pick in the top 10 and the bottom 5 stay the same say we end up with pick 7 or 8 along with Andersson is that enough to move up?
A couple of those teams will need to add now players, and Andersson is a now player, plus they don't drop back that far in the draft. I am looking at Nashville or San Jose. We get into a spot to get Misa or Hagens.

I think Dion was kicked off the Flames because he didn't like Nickelback or something

Almost everything you listed happens behind the scenes and in the room.
Miller is doing it in the open. You don't embarrass grown men like that in front of everyone.

Ottawa is really weird with their prospects. Pinto and Greig are underused and they have a late bloomer in Reinhardt that they are wasting as a 4th line checker instead of a #### disturber on a middle line.
Actually all three have a pest like ability that is being suppressed. A Greig- pinto- Reinhardt line would be a nightmare to play against. Ottawa doesn't see it.
Grab them all!

Would you do Vladar + Pelletier for Pinto?
