The 2024 draft seems to be pretty good in hindsight (at the top). Buium looks pretty solid.

Not surprised. Awful play by Finland in OT. Just horrible puck possession

3 on 3 is so extreme. 4 on 4 would be more fair.

Good thing Canada left 4 of the top 10 picks at home then. That was a close one, phew!

Personally I find it a little boring and gimmicky. 4 on 4 would be better.

I wonder if the Americans watch NHL 3-on-3 more than Finnish team. That was a very stark difference in OT approach for two teams that were more closely matched than that OT showed

Maybe this was the overtime 7 days ago.

Kind of the same, Finland scored on their one chance

Probably not too tired to practice though.

Haven’t they U.S. and Canada basically split the last several titles?

Canada is heading into a tricky time Demographically. McDavid is pretty much the last of the millennials or boomers kids to be drafted much like Lemieux wss the last boomer draft. So now it's Gen X'ers kids and this Generation which I belong to had very few good players. Our star was Eric Lindros....so combine hockey ever growing prohibitive cost with fewer kids to draw from and I expect the U.S. to start regularly beating Canada. Lots of wealthy white Americans who can afford to buy a future pro hockey player.

I thought I saw Canada and the U.S. splitting something like six years. Maybe I’m misremembering.

Insane how good the Caps prospect pool looks. AND they're one of the top teams this year somehow

Leonard
Hutson
Mateiko
Sikora

Not to mention Cristall who should've been a staple on Canada

Pinder absolutely nails the criticism on Hockey Canada @ WJR's this morning on Barn Burner, about 57 minutes in. Can't link yet because its still live but I'll update it when I can.

Ret fist pumping, Frank just laughing.
Frank confirms that Steven Ellis received a msg from an NHL GM who quote "I wouldn't trust Cameron to run a McDonalds drive thru"

TLDR: Cameron sent on the first rocket to to MARS.

...for the record...when I'm hiring fresh out of uni kids, having one that's run the drive thru is a pretty big indicator of a hard worker (they've been promoted to that position), they show up on time, and they can lead. If I'm using that quote, I'd use bake sale.
