Today had all the potential of a trap game.
Down 1 early, no Saka/Havertz; limited Rice.
Good showing by Arsenal to pull through. Can't drop any points now with Liverpool so far ahead.

Another good day for Liverpool.
Arteta is an absolute moron; throws away points with his team selections & substitutions.

Very good day for Liverpool. Chelsea and Arsenal drop points, now Liverpool have to take care of their own business tomorrow.

Spurs had a rough outing. Not only do the injuries keep coming, but a virus ran through the team as well. Just a complete mess. Down to our third string keeper who had never started for the senior team. Djed Spence, who was hardly starting not only started, but moved to CB for half. And then we had noted fullback Sergio Reguilon played half. I mean it’s hard to blame Ange with all this.

No it isnt. I heard due to budget cuts at Spurs that Ange has to moonlight as the Team Chef...

How long were those Oysters left on the counter Ange? How LONG????

Lots of illness at Arsenal too.
Can we ship this virus from North London to Liverpool?

We were just in London!

Maybe Ange forgot to put the shrimps on the barbie?

"These are remarkably rare Ange...you sure these are safe to eat?"

Well there are people saying the physical injuries are his fault because the professional athletes in their prime have to run too much, so why not.

I think something similar happened in Bayern? Under Heynckes?

Just to follow up, thats not terribly unreasonable. If you've got a small squad and a lot of games, thats when muscle injuries happen.

Frankly, I am amazed at how fast these guys recover from muscle pulls and tears. I tore my hamstring and I was out for something like 6 months. Granted, I wasnt getting top-notch medical care, but still.

Lots of running, especially start-stop-start...repeat is not good for muscles.

Especially if you dont have cover.

I’m just back from Australia - nobody put shrimps on the barbie, but the lamb chops were fantastic.

Yeah, and I understand that. But the reality is there are lots of athletes who do this and Spurs aren’t unique. Maybe we hit some bad luck, and that happens. But rugby players run a lot, stopping and starting. Hockey players stop and start all the time. I don’t think I have to point out that other PL players also do this. To look at our rash of injuries and blame the manager is just laughable.

Part of the issue people have is that he played Romero and VDV against Chelsea. Well here’s the thing, the medical team cleared them. So, what’s he supposed to do…play our second choice LB from 2016 and Dragusin against Chelsea or play the bonafide first team?

Anyway, bottom line is that Ange has a lot of issues. We’re sliding down the table and it becomes increasingly untenable. At the same time, these injuries and players out is a bad situation for any manager, regardless of who they are.

Credit to United, playing with more energy and intensity than Liverpool and deservedly ahead.

Not ideal, it would have been to pick up some points, but in fairness United made them work for it so it seems like a fair result.

7-0 again would have been more fun though.

Sean Dyche has been sacked as manager of Everton, the club confirmed on Thursday.

Dyche took over from Frank Lampard in 2023. Although Dyche steered Everton from relegation in back-to-back seasons amid financial strife, a combination of poor form and an uninspiring style of football has seen the Merseyside outfit act.

David Moyes is on the verge of sealing a return to Everton after talks with the club's new owners, sources have told ESPN.

Everton are 16th in the Premier League, having scored just 15 goals in 19 games. Only bottom-placed Southampton have managed fewer.

Dyche out and Moyes in.
