Telus just offered me $45/mth for 120GB. They said it’s for people with home services only. FYI to anyone looking for a cheaper plan.

I am just curious, how possibly can you use 120gb in a month. I think my record is like 25gb playing spotify in the car at max quality.

With these large data plans and increasing speeds at what point does cell data get large enough and
Fast enough that home internet is redundant

The switchover to Public Mobile was pretty easy, go through the steps, install the app, swap SIM card when prompted, 10 mins later I was in business.
Compared to Freedom it's $15/mo cheaper for 15GB more data and I won't have to pay roaming charges while in the US anymore.

I have no idea lol. I can’t imagine any scenario where I use even half that, which is my current plan. All I look at is speed and price, especially since Koodo almost exclusively offers 4G plans now.

This isn’t a priority for me so I did not check. I’m assuming not Mexico.

I've said it before and I'll say it again- for Telus deals get them in writing. We had a "deal" from Telus on my wife's plan, and then spent an hour per month getting them to correct the bill. Took about 8-10 months to finally get sorted out.

Jeez, 25 years later and Telus is still doing that? Wild.

Are any of you planning to get on Black Friday Pixel 9 upgrades this year? The discounts are not as clear as previous years.
Typically, Walmart is the go-to with a good deal and a ~$200 GC. Not so clear now.

Yep. I bought the 9 as Google had them for $250 off. Went back and forth between the 9 and the 9 Pro but not sure the Pro has enough extras to warrant the higher price. For me anyways. I'm kinda hoping I can use it for the next year until the 10 comes out and hopefully it has a much smaller camera bump.
I'd stick with my Pixel 5 until then TBH but want them sweet sweet updates.

I'm still digging the Pixel 9, the battery is so much better than my 6 its unreal. I've even forgotten to put it on the charger overnight and can make it easy through 2 days. I'm definitely no power user so YMMV but I couldn't make it a day with my 6.

Not anytime soon IMO. My office is right behind 2 cell towers, shows full bars on 5g and still get very meh speeds. I've been totally underwhelmed with the speed "increases" from LTE to 5G. Home internet still nukes cell connections and will likely continue to do so for some time.

I got one the week before Black Friday, and the random sale was actually better than the price on Black Friday or Cyber Monday which I found odd.
Luckily I was able to keep my old plan, Koodo seems to have stepped back their offerings

For those that jumped on Public Mobile $35/months ago plan, you can upgrade for free an extra 25gb to 75gb. Just go in the app and change your plan to the Dec 31 deadline 75gb NA plan.
Plus you get extra 500 mins long distance to a bunch of countries. Maybe an extra perk for some.

Fyi - with the Telus can/us/mex plan. I was able to sign up two people @ 37.50 / line. With home services. No contract if you bring your own phone

How is coverage with Public Mobile, in particular in rural central/southern Alberta? My daughter's contract is up and Virgin doesn't want to switch her over to the bring your own phone deal that they offer new customers. Public Mobile seems like a good deal but she works out of town in the summer so rural coverage is a must.

Public Mobile is Telus/Bell, but it certainly seems that the discount brands get lowest priority network access these days - I'm on Koodo and even with five bars the latency seems high.

BVS Rogers - $45/100GB can/us. I'll take it.
Also had Fido and Chatr deals.
