This is the least likeable Team Canada I can ever remember.
In fact, I kind of detest Hockey Canada generally.

Yeah, I cheer wildly for every Canadian team regardless of the players. If my NHL team has several players on another country’s team, don’t care. They’re the enemy for two weeks. Go Canada. I don’t care about this team.

Leave it to Dave Cameron to lose an important international game to a team donning Chipotle advertisements on their gear. The guy has coached in almost 900 career CHL games, 240 AHL games, 148 Colonial games, and 137 NHL games and has won exactly zero championships of any sort. That's a lot of leagues and games coached over decades with no championships to show for it so I'm not exactly sure why the Team Canada braintrust thinks he's the guy to win Gold for team Canada.

Probably because he has won gold at the world juniors before and has won silver. That would be my guess as to why they picked him.

Not sure if an advertisement has anything to do with the outcome of the game.

I don’t recall a world junior team that won it “because of the coaching”.
It’s amazing how many terrible coaches stick around due to the establushment in all levels of hockey. I wish I one day got to understand it.

This team is a bunch of undisciplined thugs who are more interested it showcasing their toughness than presenting their talent. They are coached by a loud, hollering, swearing coach who has no discipline himself and presents a poor example to the team. We don't deserve to be this far in the tournament. Poorest team Canada I've ever watched. It's time to take a serious look at who picks the team.

I didn't even remember he was with the Flames before. Which years were they and who was head coach at the time?

Brent coached the lockout team with Crosby, Getzlaf, Dion, Weber etc. he also had Dustin Boyd the year after.
He made his team shave their heads like some drill sergeant in the military.
These coaches really need to be knocked down a peg.

He's coaching the perfect system for the players we have. Look at the predictions at the start of the year, no one picked us to be near a playoff spot with this current roster.
It's not like he is coaching an all star team, the Flames have zero legit first line forwards on the roster. How can you say a coach with no elite talent, who has his team in a playoff spot is doing a bad job?
|
And where did the media have this team at the start of the prior season? In the playoffs with one of the best D groups in the league. What happened? The team was crap and players left in droves. It's amazing how this team can't produce the same offence as much less talented teams and everybody says nothing to see here because Wolf and Vladar have stood on their heads. No elite talent? The team has a winger that always dangled around 100 points and hit 115 and suddenly he forgot how to play hockey and turned into a 50 point player under Sutter/Huska ( same system). Dave Cameron and Ryan Huska are basically the same guy system wise, Huska is just more personable. Neither can coach worth a ####.
