We'll I'll speak for or clear up my thoughts since I dropped the immature label... I also thought the same about Matthew Tkachuk and Johnny Gaudreau. Pakekh could probably due with some maturing but I don't think a bad thing, dialling in the swagger is better than pretending to have some. Liking an instagram post comes across as more petty than anything but he's an 18 year old kid and people are making way too much of it either way.
I wouldn't write him off as having an attitude cause of it, nor would I label it as "giving a ####!! rabble rabble" like some have praised. But I don't know him personally, I've never meet him or interacted with him so my thoughts about such mental things mean diddly squat.
Just wanted to clear that up to be apart from "I could guess why"

I definitely see a lot of similarities between how quick people are on Parekh with how quick they were on Tkachuk.

The most immature thing I've witnessed is Dave Cameron's defense of his team's lack of offense. His arrogance and that of Hockey Canada knows no bounds.
The way Hockey Canada have carried themselves make me question whether I am cheering for my country or some exclusive club team ran by a management group that feels zero accountability for any of their actions.
If Zayne Parekh isn't feeling the love for Hockey Canada right now, he's not alone.

Let's be very clear about this however, he's still eligible next year. The World Juniors, especially for team Canada, is typically a 19 year old hockey tournament. If he's healthy and isn't playing in Calgary I have no doubt he'll be on the team next year.

But he's arguably better than almost every defenseman there...........now. Why wait?
Not directed at you, I just hate the mindset (if true) that a player being a few months older trumps another player who is clearly better. Doesn't make much sense to me.
Hopefully things change after this year and they just start selecting the best team based on skill rather than their birth certificate, and possibly other lame excuses (favoritism, race, etc)

He might or might not be immature.
But what does that make Dave Cameron, who is snubbing talent based on his own personal agenda and politics.

Yakemchuk isn't a Flames prospect. His actions might be discussed less about a Flames prospect in a thread dedicated to the other guy. Like I'm not pretending race isn't an issue in hockey and all aspects of life.. but chill out a little while that man.

It really seems like people are defending parekh for something virtually no one is criticizing him for.
I also don’t see many similarities at all with Tkachuk. Tkachuk had on ice issues with the mental part of his game that was affecting his play well into his tenure with the flames. Until Parekh starts playing poorly and costing his team games, I don’t see how anything about their situations are similar.
Let’s get back to what matters. Talking #### about Dave Cameron before the tournament is over. Even if we win gold, he still sucks.

Virtually no one, but actually some people, which is why people are defending him.
The “Dave Cameron sucks” thread is the other one.

I don't necessarily think Parekh has necessarily made the right decisions on social media, but one thing is for sure - Canada did not put their best team out there, and Cameron is not doing a good job coaching.
I would prefer that Parekh take the high ground here and just throw support behind Team Canada - that's the boring, generic thing to do, but probably also the right thing to do, as I am sure he has friends on that team. However, he isn't doing something stupid either here. It isn't coming out and trashing Team Canada. He isn't being overdramatic and whining or doing something that we all know he will regret. I would call this 'lightly criticizing'.
Whether or not you believe that Parekh should or shouldn't be on this team, I strongly believe this isn't the best roster that they could have put out this year, and I also believe that Cameron is - once again - getting in his own way here.

Not picking on you here but I think bolded is important - is he not supporting the team? You may not be referring to the like on instagram but would him not liking it after a loss = support?

It makes Dave Cameron a terrible coach. He always has been.
He was horrible in Ottawa and he was horrible in Calgary and hasn't gotten a sniff at the NHL since.
Hockey Canada needs a leadership change something fierce.

If he's in Calgary he'll tell HC to pound sand, besides, he'll be too busy chasing the Calder.

I can assure you Parekh is being talked about A LOT elsewhere and some very derogatory things are being said. I think race while not the only factor is a factor and not just this incident. I mean he was called racial slurs earlier in the year by fans and it was suggested HE over reacted when he confronted them.

He would have also loved to pound opposing players in front of his future team fans.
