I watched Die Hard 2 for the first time yesterday, while not as good as the first one, it's still an excellent action movie. And since it's also set on Christmas Eve, does it qualify as a Christmas movie?
Obviously can't recommend as it is not out yet, but apparently Christopher Nolan's next film is going to Homer's the Iliad. If done well, that would be epically awesome.

Just being better than Troy would be a win.

The Odyssey not the Illiad.
Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Zendaya, Charlize Thereon all slated to star.

Didn't the Coen Brothers already do that when they adapted "O Brother Where Art Thou" from The Odyssey? I'm not familiar with the original work, maybe the Coens were very loose and Nolan plans to be more faithful.
Tip for both Troy and Kingdom of Heaven. The theatrical versions were almost unwatchable, but the extended versions were a lot more coherent. Kingdom of Heaven benefitted from this more than Troy, but it stops Troy from being a burden.

The other day, I thought Dear Santa was the worst Christmas movie I'd ever seen. Now tonight, Silent Night set a new low.
Oh come on, I thought Dear Santa was fun. I got a few genuine laughs out of it, its not going to become a 'Christmas Classic' or anything but it wasn't terrible.
Sometimes they dont have to be epic to be great. For instance, one of our family's favourite Christmas movies is 'The Ref' with Denis Leary.

I remember liking it as a kid, but as an adult the absolute ludicrous plot takes me out of it completely. DH3: With a Vengeance is the proper sequel to the first one

Nosferatu was great. A very disorienting movie. Somehow totally surreal but 100% grounded in reality. Disgusting at times and light hearted and funny at others. Beautifully shot, well paced. It gave me lots to think about 9/10.

It sure beats the pants off this turd. Getting half the cast of Christmas Vacation is not a guarantee of box office success.
