Regrettably, Musk is also a Canadian citizen as his mother was a Canadian and was able to get dual South African-Canadian citizenship that way. He actually entered the U.S. after first moving to Canada.

There could be legal challenges, but I think the rule is that they have to be a natural born citizen (not necessarily born in the U.S.). Most people think that means physically being born in the U.S. because with the current rules, that does automatically make one a natural born citizen.

In Cruz's case, he was born to American citizens temporarily living abroad and the birth was quickly registered with the American consulate. I think you can argue that it counts as being a "natural born citizen".

The Journal reported that lawmakers, Cabinet members, and the public all seemed to have less face time with the president than in previous administrations and that senior advisers were “often put into roles that some administration officials and lawmakers thought Biden should occupy.” Namely, administration officials like Jake Sullivan, Steve Ricchetti, and Lael Brainard frequently functioned as intermediaries for the president.
