We'll never be picking top five with garbage teams like Buffalo and Chicago playing like this.
I really think we’re aimed straight at peak sadness. 11th worst - 16th worst, where we miss the playoffs and give up their pick instead of Florida’s…Brad Treliving really, really sucked in his last few years as GM.

Ths is why they should draft all 10 of the bottom slots. The Flames are trying to be a good team, and so they will never fall to the putrid levels of Chicago Buffalo and I'm not saying the other team because they are up 2-1 on the Oilers.

I suspect that most coaches wouldn't be upset with Donato stepping up to back up a rookie prospect. The Flames got a PPG from the exchange, so, karma was served.

I still hate the Hawks from that 2009 playoff series where they were so dirty and cocky in beating the favoured Flames. Also the sexual assault. This is nice to see.

I agree. It's about time they give every team that misses the playoffs an equal chance at winning the lottery. I'm not even saying these teams are tanking on purpose, Buffalo and Nashville are definitely not. It just sucks seeing the same teams at the top of the draft year after year. The only team(s) it worked for were Edmonton and Pittsburgh because they sucked long enough to draft generational talents.

Ha ha...I still laugh at how the "fail for Nail" debacle worked out!

It's getting ridiculous. In both 2023 and 2024, the top 6 teams in the Draft were San Jose, Chicago, Anaheim, Columbus, Montreal, and Arizona/Utah. The only thing that changed was the order.
Right now, the bottom 6 in the standings are: Buffalo, Chicago, San Jose, Nashville, Anaheim, Montreal. 4 of the same 6 teams.
