AHLers perhaps auditioning for a job overseas come next season. If you're going to play in Europe, Switzerland's National League is a sweet gig.

How does the level of play not being the best in the world mean that it holds zero value? Maybe the value would be that you attend & have a really good time watching some hockey? Sorry if it comes off like I'm picking on you specifically but I've never understood this ongoing rhetoric by North American sports fans that for a sport to be worth watching it has to be the 'best product'.
It certainly holds value to the local fans even though they're watching a bunch of 'nobodies'. It's almost as if they just really like the sport of hockey or something..

We can do this...
Whats Iggy up to these days? I'm sure he'd appreciate a Swiss holiday...

Knowing you, I don’t doubt this is true. We could throw in a CP team of “Azerbaijanis”!

Get Regehr...maybe Kipper? Gelinas looks like he's still in game shape! Oh yeah...lets really spice up the Spengler. I'd buy tickets to that!!

A North American equivalent would be an annual tournament in the Cambria County War Memorial arena in Johnstown, PA featuring three AHL teams, two ECHL, and a rag-tag team comprised of Slovakians playing in NA.

You think spending Christmas time in Johnstown PA is equivalent to spending Christmas time in Davos Switzerland?

Davos (and pretty much all of Switzerland) is simply incredible during the holidays. Too bad you basically need to a half billion annual salary to live there. Or do like the locals and live on the side of a mountain and farm sheep <—- this blows me away everytime I go there.

"In today's news a local Calgary message board has rigged an international hockey Tournament in Switzerland. Why? Nobody knows. More at 11! Congratulations Azerbaijan."

Likewise. These guys are playing for Canada over Christmas becuase they want to represent the country, not because they want to raise draft position under the bright lights of the made-for-TSN created tournament.
