Chicago Blackhawks at Calgary Flames 2:00pm TV: SN1, CHSN - RADIO SN960

			                     Last Game News Roundup
5 Things - Flames vs. Blackhawks
Know Your Enemy

Chicago comes to town having won their last three games, with Saturday's contest marking the first in a mini two-game trip that ends Monday in Minnesota.

The Hawks parted ways with head coach Luke Richardson earlier this month, replacing him with 49-year-old Anders Sorensen, who by virtue of his promotion from AHL Rockford became the first Swedish-born head coach in NHL history.

Since Sorensen took the reins, Chicago is 4-3-0, arriving in Calgary on a three-game winning streak most recently punctuated by a 3-1 victory over Seattle on home ice Thursday night.
Flames prospect Sam Honzek was solid if unspectacular in his AHL debut at centre
When the Calgary Flames selected Sam Honzek at 16th overall in the first round of the 2023 NHL Draft, you could understand the appeal.
He’s big! He’s toolsy! He moves well! He’s played in a ton of international events, so you know how he compares to the top players in his age group. But man, if only he could play centre…
Why The Calgary Flames Are Unlikely To Trade Top Defenseman
With all due respect to those suggesting Rasmus Andersson is a player the Calgary Flames will move before the NHL trade deadline, it's a bit surprising there isn't more chatter about the franchise re-signing one of the team's most important players.
Blackhawks put three-game win streak to test vs. Flames

It will be two teams going in opposite directions when the Chicago Blackhawks visit the Calgary Flames on Saturday.

The Blackhawks defeated the Seattle Kraken 3-1 on Thursday night for their third straight win, while the Flames dropped a 3-2 decision to the Ottawa Senators in a second consecutive overtime defeat.

Why is it we get the Hawks and Sens rolling through...both teams just seem have our number despite the fact that they suck.

'Hawks are on their 1st 3 game winning streak of the season, getting a delayed bump from the change at Head Coach. They dropped their 1st two games under Sorensen, but, now sit at 3-2-0 with him in charge.
I am unsure of the starting lineup, as both Seth Jones and Peter Mrazek are activated off of IR. Soderblom has been solid in net, hovering around a 0.910 save pct, with a very green defense in front of him, but, has suffered from non-support.

Offensively, The duo of Mikheylev getting fed by Teravainen have been white hot over the last week. Bedard has scuffled some, as the 'Hawks have not settled on line mates for him. Hall seems to have woken up, after getting a healthy scratch, a few weeks ago.

The 'Hawks seem much more competitive under Sorensen, but, the roster still is not very good, IMO. They have started to stick in some youngsters to the top level, to see what they can do in the NHL. Nazar, Korchinski, and Allan, have gotten significant minutes, since their recent call ups.

Looking forward to hanging in the GT with my friends here at CP. Not a lot of expectations for my guys, but, they HAVE been a more entertaining watch, lately.

Regarding Anderson extention, there is no use discussing it til July 1st when he can sign. However, it has been reported that Anderson is not interested in signing longterm with a rebuilding team.
