Miromanov still has decent upside, unfortunately he will probably never realize it here under this coach. He needs to play but Huska has a man crush on Hanley who sucks way more.

I think he's been overexposed.

I agree - deploy him in the bottom pair.
A third pairing of Bean - Miromanov would be worth seeing, IMO.
Bahl - Andersson
Pachal - Weegar
Bean - Miromanov

Everyone agreed that is what he was at the time of the trade, because that is what he was. So, I guess you were right?
The question was, could he develop into a decent player? I think the jury is still out on that one, but so far he hasn't progressed as much as I had hoped.

Miromanov is 27 with about a season of experience total. Ryan Huska, nor anyone is keeping him from reaching his mediocre potential. The fact he takes a regular shift at the nhl level is about what he is

Huska has a bottom ten team playing above expectations. Hard to blame him for much.

Second hardest zone starts on the team at 5v5 and still a positive possession player.
Not sure what you guys are complaining about. He's a very passable to decent top 4 dman on a bad team. And he's doing better with his ice time than much higher paid players with better zone starts and worse competition....

Something about Russian players over thinking and struggling despite having all the tools, it’s weird. Danil just like Kuzy needs to keep things simple to have great careers. They make mistakes when they hold on too long planning out dazzling plays. This league doesn’t give them that much time.

He turns the puck over a lot, under pressure. And his zone-exit passing isn't great yet.
Stats aren't everything.

A bottom 10 team that can’t score 4 goals. It’s pretty remarkable what they have accomplished.

Yes, clearly Huska favours Hanley, who has played 9 games, over Miromanov, who has played 28.

Go read the thread I linked to and see how much backlash pointing out Miromanov was a third pairing guy at best received. Some rich revisionism there.

That’s a weird take.
Miromanov is Russian Hanley. Not young. Not good. Just filler in the hopes a kid takes the spot. Once you get to they both suck, the answer to who sucks worse is who cares?

6-7 D and not much progress in his game with the Flames so far.

Miro has played 28 games, and Hanley has played 9.

I think people were objecting to the tone of your criticism more than the criticism itself.
On the other hand....who cares either way.
I don't know why you would hold onto something for so long. I don't remember most of what I've said on this site, let alone what people have said in response to it.

After seeing him for an extended period now, Miromanov works best as a simple player.
He has the reach of Hal Gill, and the skating of Hal Gill.
Now, I love me some Hal Gill.
Make good passes, close off angles, block shots, break up the cycle down low, get the puck out of the zone.
Don’t be skating it deep on the rush or hanging out at the side of the net - this isn’t Minsk.

You weren't taking heat for saying he was a 6-7 guy, you were taking heat for saying that was all he could ever be. And that statement is ALWAYS wrong, even when it turns out right.

I've only just now posted in this thread after several pages. Mainly to comment on CPers coming around on Miromanov. Really hope I'm wrong about Sharangovich and Grushnikov, too, by the way. I'm sure those were tone related as well.
