Right, my comment about Whataboutism then Wormius asks about a Whatabouism about Locke... pretty comical.

So, do the sides on either ends of this debate over the last few days, now switch sides and continue the debate?

Nah, I still think it is the NDPs best interest to hold out until October.

But my assessment of how much of a political dunce JS is has increased dramatically.

edit - unless this is a ruse as a way to get the Liberal caucus to oust JT for their fear of losing their seats. But I don't think he plays that kind of 4-d chess.. his Among Us game was pretty weak compared to AOC.

I mean, it would have made sense to reply in chronological order. Just not sure why you glossed over Locke’s reply to you and went straight for Fuzz’s.

What are you even talking about. I had nothing to do with Locke. I did not feel that was a comment requiring a response. I dont need to respond to every comment posted on here.

Okay, I guess if you have Locke on ignore that’s understandable.

I dont know when would be best, I think Trudeau is cooked and Jagmeet doesnt really matter, right now the bed-fellows are eating each other.

I mean honestly, who cares about Singh's pension? Its a drop in the bucket compared to most of the money Trudeau has either stolen or pissed away. Is Justin going to fly off and go join his WE buddies in Aftica? He can only chill on the Aga Khan's couch for so long before housekeeping inevitably kicks him out.

The real problem is a catastrophic lack of palatable alternatives.

Even if, by some implausible sequence of events, an election were to be called and the status quo were somehow miraculously to remain...it'd still be a #### sandwich.

Call an election now or call an election later, I dont think it much matters.

Morning bro! Let's start with the Wealth Tax

https://globalnews.ca/news/8107509/s...21-wealth-tax/

Quote:
If NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh becomes the prime minister of Canada, anyone with over $10 million can expect to pay a new tax: one per cent on every penny of their wealth over $10 million.
NDP Platform

https://www.ndp.ca/economy

Quote:
To make our tax system fairer and ensure that the wealthiest individuals are paying their fair share, we will increase the capital gains inclusion rate to 75 percent. A New Democrat government will also boost the top marginal tax rate two points, put in place a luxury goods tax on things like yachts and private jets, and ask the very richest multi-millionaires to pay a bit more towards our shared services with a wealth tax.
And the policy is based on a lie that the wealthy don't pay their fair share. That just isn't true.

The Europe Experiment

Normally progressives like to point to Europe for policy success. Not this time. The experiment with the wealth tax in Europe was a failure in many countries. France's wealth tax contributed to the exodus of an estimated 42,000 millionaires between 2000 and 2012, among other problems. Only last year, French president Emmanuel Macron killed it.

Sounds like Singh is going to bring about a non confidence motion when parliament resumes in Feb. Guess we’ll see. He’s backed himself into a corner now.

I think it’s damage control at this point. Canada is currently a laughingstock.

Should probably stop the bleeding and get it over with in my mind.

Really? I mean, I guess so but that corner was there to begin with. Singh didn't have much of a choice.

If he supported the Liberals any more he'd have to their full-time front-office Receptionist.

See, this is where I disagree.

I understand why you'd think that, but really? To be a laughingstock other major nations would actually have to care.

And thats something that I think the Trudeau Liberals always over-estimated.

"We're going to save the planet! We're going to be World Leaders!"

And so on and so forth. Never really acknowledging that in the grand global scheme of things?

We don't matter.

If it’s before Feb 25 yes. If it’s after, no.

I have my popcorn ready for the resumption of parliament. The media will be after Singh like flies to Trudeau’s dead carcass. Should at least be entertaining!!

So it’s still just “uh I guess just the wealth tax” then?

Seems odd that you’ve mentioned “other policies” several times and haven’t been able to name one.

Basing that on international media coverage lately. Covering our soap opera.

Canada remains to this day one of the best, most desirable countries to live on our planet. The list of countries about Canada is incredibly small.

If people think we’re a laughing stock or irrelevant, perhaps they should move somewhere better.

I'm guessing that Singh never gets to call that vote. Trudeau will prorogue Parliament and step down, allowing the Libs time to pick a sacrificial lamb for the election.

By backed into a corner I meant the whole pension angle.

He has to go forward now or he’ll look like an even bigger hypocrite. He’d had to stall for a month if the pension angle is still in play.

Either way the Canadian soap opera will be heating up!! Answers to all of the questions brought up in here will be coming soon.
