That's almost impossible at this point.
In order to finish bottom 5 you need to have about .430 points percentage on the season or about 70 points.
Flames have 37 points with 49 games remaining. Meaning they could only get 33 points in their remaining 49 games or a 0.336 points percentage.
Dont think that's happening, this team just isn't that bad

Like the efforts but lost to the refs. Proubd of this team's efforts and performance in the last two. Move on and beat the Hawks on Saturday.
Go Flames !

So the Flames have received a total of 4 pps in 5 games? Ha. Ha. Ha. Ha. Well done, NHL. No mistakes are ever admitted by the league or refs.

I am LOVING how often Coronato has possession of the puck. A few months ago he was barely getting it. Now he has so much confidence with it.

Whenever flames commit an infraction it’s always well yes that’s a penalty every time(like when flames took 9’in Ottawa ) but apparently not so sucker punches to the face or a
Hook high stick combo on an ot scoring chance

I know. But the on ice results in overtime are not working much lately. Would like to see something different.
Kadri especially seems to get to play however he wants out there and never sits for his poor decisions. The young guys have to play perfect hockey and still don’t get that kind of leeway. If Zary or Coronato made that poor play on the powerplay tonight that Kadri made while also making the low percentage play in the Boston game in overtime… I think a message would be sent.
Just ready to see some more opportunities for Coronato and Zary. They’re making smart plays and generating offence. Kadri and Huberdeau are generating offence too but they’re also making costly or risky plays that have been leading to goals against.

Starting to feel like 22-23 with all the OT losses?
That cost them a playoff spot, among other things of course. They had 19 that season I think.
Flames have 7 OTL's 33 games into the season.

Does a missed penalty call in OT qualify for missed stoppage in play?

and he is being patient with it, and making plays
guys talk about the game slowing down for them after a year or two - he has clearly gotten to that point

As in something that can be reviewed?
No, those reviews are for glove passes/offsides/puck in netting but not blown dead.

You know I never really like this argument “we only had x power plays in x games” cause you could play games with zero infractions against or one with 20.
But
I agree those were two pretty badly missed calls. Brutal

Best case scenario here is that NHL officials are grossly incompetent.

I am absolutely confident that this is a bottom-10 team by the end April.
Good work, Connie

They have been for years. There is zero consistency and the league protects them no matter how badly they mess up. It isn't just us, they screw up every game and the war room is just as useless, they get calls right about 50% of the time. I don't know how you force the league to fix this though. Every time a coach says anything the league fines them. It might be worth it if teams support the coaches and cover the fines while encouraging them to speak out.
