Nice. Just read that on TSN.

I really like Pachal. Picking up him and Bahl were great moves by conman. With all of the young D on the Wranglers I think we are set on D and in net for a while.

Thinking longer term, Bahl's contract will be up end of season. I wonder what he will command? Probably going to finish with between 25-30 points and is one of our better defensive focus players IMO. I wonder if he'd sign something like a 4x4.

These two guys on the LD for a few years is a good situation for us, especially with the puck movers we have coming up on the right side in Brzu and Parekh. With Solovyov and Kuznetsov looking mighty fine, and guys like Mews in the pipe too, it gives us lots of options to potentially send guys out in the near term. One of Rasmus or Weegar should definitely be traded this season.
Pachal shoots right; I don't think he's played the left side for the Flames.

Nice signing.

Have to give him credit for his improved play this year. Last year I was rather pessimistic because he looked like he had a ceiling at 10 minutes TOI after which his game deteriorated. Much more consistent this year, leaning into the strengths of his game.

Pachal vs kuznetzov vs soloyov vs grushnikov vs jurmo

Big d vying for 2 to 4 spots on left side

Look at winning teams size wins on d

I hope conroy can get some picks as well before exposure to waivers

Pachal is the right side.

If we look at long term organizational depth on RH vs LH.

LH:
Bahl
Bean
Hanley
Solovyov
Poirier
Kuznetsov
Grushnikov
Morin

RH:
Weegar
Andersson
Miromanov
Pachal
Barrie
Brzustewicz
Parekh
Mews

Stronger on the RH side for sure...could probably actually use a bit more of a "blue chip" on the LH side but have some decent pieces.

Hanley and Barrie should both be gone by the end of the season. And our RH strength is probably why the team can afford to move Andersson instead of re-signing him to a long term, big money deal.

This I like. I think he can earn a #4 spot in the long run.

Pachal continues to get better and better, and he is only 25. Great pickup, great signing, perfect term and AAV.

Just nothing not to like here.

I'm not sure what Bahl is looking for, but I recall a few weeks ago, Steinberg was throwing out 5 or 6M per? I was pretty shocked when I heard that number.

I could see that. Somewhere between Jamie Oleksiak and Tyler Myers.

Zero risk signing for the Flames.

Bahl making 6 million would be crazy even with the cap going up.

I guess that depends on what they think he is. If becomes a good shut down Dman that can chip in 25-35 points then 6M wouldn't be far fetched.

Under 6 would be great for Bahl. 6 and above there some risk.

But we also live in a world where Bahl has 11 points and Kylington has 2 and Simon Edvinsson has 13. So..... Bahl is good for his age, is a fit within the build structure, he could be in for a healthy investment from the Flames.

Pachals definitely earned an extension. And at 1.1 a year ish, that's an easy signing to make. He's an anchor on the 3rd pairing.
