Sure seems like Trump is going to hand Ukraine to Russia quickly.

No it is not that at all. See I can hold two different positions on two different topics. Topic 1, the health care system in the us is an epic failure that pits profits vs people. It is also the system they repeatedly choose and do not fix. Topic 2, we shouldn’t gun people down on the street.

As people have said, you have to dig deeper . Things are complicated, things are so bad that these are not independent

What recourse do people have when the system fails them? The mechanisms made available to them under the system?

No, I don’t. I already have. The systems sucks, badly, and it puts people in very desperate positions which created the conditions for this. I totally get why it happened. And it still shouldn’t have happened. This shouldn’t be political at all on the last point.

Where are you willing to say enoughs enough? Is someone incredibly stressed about climate change allowed to kill and oil and gas exec? Where is the re line for you where you say it shouldn’t happen? Dig deep.

The holiday travel season is upon us and airports will be crazy, flights will be delayed, luggage will be lost, travelers will be stressed, flights are expensive and airlines CEOs probably deserve to be shot.

Is anyone arguing that it should happen or that it’s allowed?

Murder is wrong and illegal. But I think at worst people are shrugging their shoulders at this specific one. No need to go down the slippery slope and wonder where it ends. People are pretty good at judging things on a case by case basis.

Anyone who says things like “Should we kill an Oil and Gas exec” or “Should we kill an airline exec” is being a silly goose on purpose.

He’s trying to prove a point. You don’t have to call him an idiot.

It’s an idiotic point.

But I’ll edit my post not to offend, wouldn’t want to be seen as worse than a CEO killer.

Clearly the general public is on the side that this one was OK, so I say we just go through the list and judge reactions. Then we can have a master spreadsheet organized by the public's general perception of CEO murders. At that point, we can find the cutoff.

You want to kill all CEOs just to see what the public reaction would be?

Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacular, never the same, totally unique, completely not ever been done before, unafraid to reference or not reference, put it in a blender, #### on it, vomit on it, eat it, give birth to it!

And before people say, “what’s next… MIDDLE MANAGERS??” I say YES QUEEN!

I didn't say kill all CEO's. I meant to kill one form each industry, so we know which industries the public finds truly abhorrent, then we can build a ranking. Whynotnow wanted to know where the line is, and this seems a pretty fair way to find it.

It's either that, or we could turn life and death decisions over to an algorithm, if we can somehow find a way to maximize shareholder return in this excercise.

But how will we TRULY know unless we kill ALL CEOs? Like, maybe there’s 2-3 in an industry that would get a totally different reaction than the rest?

This is the only way to really know.

Let’s at least include small business owners who call themselves CEOs. Something ain’t right about them.

It seems that over 2/3s of people are not ok with it. But the majority of people under 30 are.

No, I think in the US, people are not good at judging on a case by case basis. People are convinced big pharma is out to kill them, that banks are part of an international conspiracy (to what end I’m not sure), that immigrants are eating pets. It’s not a leap to say that someone else with a beef against another similar industry wouldn’t do the same thing. Is the insurance industry a lot worse than the banking industry?

Man, seeing women referred to as 'chicks' spelled out makes me sound so old and out of touch. Am I the only one still using that word? Maybe I missed the memo that we retired that one. Or do you guys still say it? I think my friends and I do, but I'll pose it to the group on Friday.
