This thread needs a bump.
I have taken to running again.
There was a time in my life up to around 35 I could run forever, I never ever seemed to get tired.
I started in Oct and managed 20 runs out of 31 days.
So far this month I am 4 days in a row.
I like it, I mean it is still difficult but I get it done.
My time is faster
My cadence more consistent
My hockey is easier
It makes me happier

It's a small thing but I still love seeing a Chinook arch over the city. We're lucky to live here.

I've historically had some ankle, knee and hip discomfort when running. I got a pair of compression shorts with knee and hip support and that has made a noticeable difference. I don't get sore as quickly and recovery feels a little faster. I was mainly using a single knee tensor prior to this. The nice thing about compression shorts with knee/hip support is that it helps on both sides vs previously just one side. It also feels more solid so I don't feel like I have to worry as much about injury from a careless innocuous movement.
If you don't already use compression shorts for physical activities, it's worth considering.
Something like this:

But there's plenty of other options out there.

I hope we don't get that perma snow blanket until December. The shorter real winter is, the better.
In normal years it's just too long.

Oddly my hips don't get bothered by running.
My right knee does and does my right ankle (but that has been shredded too many times to count).
I do wear some very light compression shorts, but mainly cuz I look good in them.
I'll never get to the point of running and never tiring again, but it is good to chase it.
I took today off.

For business reasons we need a hard freeze first, especially in the central and northern reasons before we get significant snowfall. Don't need the snow insulating the ground and preventing a solid freeze. For ground water reasons we need a crap ton of snow everywhere this winter and I hope we get it.

My wife noticed someone stealing a package from my neighbor's step at about 1:30 today...
She called CPS with a description and within the hour they had caught the guy and returned my neighbor's package.
Opened, but it was all still there I think.

I don’t use Amazon much but I get my stuff delivered to a parcel locker. I go right by it anyway so it’s super convenient.
Good on your wife, though. I like when we look out for each other.

It's Giving Day today, many charities around town will have your donation matched by some moneybags. So donate some money.

Installed a train horn in my truck last night. It was attempt number two. I fkd up the first time I tried, but I had been going over the install in my head quite a bit and kind of cracked the code of where I went wrong. Planned it all out and it went perfectly. Soooooo loud, but like anything else, I want it even louder now. Humans are so weird. You get a fast car...then you want it faster. You get a loud stereo...then you need a bigger sub. You have a dual-horn train whistle powered by an air compressor hooked to your truck and a day later you want a louder one. Still happy, though.

I had an old Chevy Corsica, and access to discarded vehicle parts. So of course I grabbed whatever was the largest rustiest one in the pile, and added it as a harmony to the stock horn. It wasn't ridiculously load, but it sure didn't sound like a wimpy Corsica horn anymore.

I'm in DFW for work the beginning of Jan.
I have a buddy that lives in DFW so I always go down a few days early.
That makes me happy.
But this time we got tickets to the Cowboys v Commanders.
I don't like Football, but the spectacle and that stadium can't be resisted.

I used to never click on this thread since even the question of what makes me happy made me unhappy.
I just realized that the question doesn't make me unhappy like it used to.
That makes me happy.

The hardest part about watching a game at this stadium is actually to remember to look down at the field.
That jumbotron is surreal. And it draws the eyes. Without thinking you will be watching the play on the tron instead of doing what you paid for and watching it live. ESPECIALLY once the cowboys cheerleaders are put up on it.
